Whitney Houston Dead At 48

Whitney Houston died this afternoon at the age of 48. The Grammy award-winning performer’s death was confirmed to the Associate Press by her rep, Kristen Foster. According to TMZ, paramedics were allegedly called to the Beverly Hilton hotel earlier today after Houston was found “unresponsive” in her room; though an attempt was made to revive the singer, she was pronounced dead at 3:55 p.m. Beverly Hills police Lt. Mark Rosen has since verified that the singer did pass away at the hotel. Houston leaves behind one child, daughter Bobbi Kristina, with ex-husband Bobby Brown.

While Whitney Houston famously struggled with drug and alcohol abuse, entering rehab as recently as last May, she will be remembered most for her two Emmys, six Grammys, 30 Billboard Music awards and 22 American Music Awards. More importantly, no other person knew exactly how much we wanted to dance with somebody who loves us. She will be desperately missed.

Vanessa Hudgens Lived In A Homeless Shelter For Two Weeks For A Role

Vanessa Hudgens: Academy Award nominee. We’ll probably have to type out that exact same phrase again some day, if the lengths Hudgens went to in preparing for upcoming film Gimme Shelter are any indication. “I actually went and stayed in the shelter for two weeks before I started filming,” Hudgens said of her time living at a homeless shelter, which she revealed as part of her interview on The Rachael Ray Show. “I lived there with all the girls, with all the kids. It’s really empowering and it’s fun pushing yourself as far as you can.” Seeing as how Vanessa’s last film was Sucker Punch…this is some straight-up Daniel Day-Lewis ish in comparison.

While the former High School Musical star is currently promoting her action-adventure film Journey 2: The Mysterious Island, Vanessa is clearly interested in roles that require much more of a transformation. “[Rosario Dawson and I] look so messed up in this movie,” Hudgens remarked, describing her screen mom’s “meth head” look as well as her own character’s ragged, uneven ‘do. “I actually cut my own hair… I did that to myself, yes I did,” Vanessa added. Meanwhile Rosario Dawson will also be giving the performance of a lifetime in Gimme Shelter…as a woman old enough to be Vanessa Hudgens’ mom.

Usually we can’t stand celebrities who cannot get over how hot they are, but we’ll give Emma Watson a pass. Why? Well, um…because she really is that hot. What is she supposed to do, deny reality? The Harry Potter star instead worked it out like a 9-to-5 in a short, fiery red lace dress while on the red carpet of today’s Lancome and Emma Watson Pre-BAFTA party at The Savoy Hotel in London. We guess if your name is in the title of the event you’re attending, that’s more than enough reason to smize. So smize on, you minx.

Nicki Minaj Looks Like A Hotter Medusa On Her Paper Mag Cover

Nicki Minaj has made it abundantly clear that she’s a mother—-ing monster, specifically one who loves a wig in an inhuman color. It seemed like only a matter of time, then, before Minaj got around to rocking jade-colored curls like the ones she’s taming on the cover of Paper mag. Nicki’s look is making us want to brush up on our Greek mythology real bad. What if Medusa actually turned everyone to stone because she was just so ridiculously, ridiculously good-looking? Quick, to the library! After we finish writing this post!

Of course, Nicki looks consistently smoking now matter what color mane she’s rocking, whether she’s dressed as a historical courtesan on the cover of W magazine, a busty Juggalette on an issue of V or just eye-meltingly hot on King. Personally, we like her locks as unearthly as possible. So next time, Nicki, just go for the scalp full of snakes. Once you make that hot, there is literally no stopping you.

Madonna Still Annoyed Over M.I.A.’s “Teenager” Super Bowl Bird Flip

Can you guess the only thing Madonna hates more than hydrangeas? For the last time, nothing! That being said, it seems like M.I.A.’s Super Bowl middle finger stunt has also gotten stuck in Madge’s craw something fierce. “I wasn’t happy about it. I understand it’s punk rock and everything, but to me there was such a feeling of love and good energy, and positivity it seemed negative,” the singer complained to Ryan Seacrest‘s KIIS-FM show this morning. “It’s one of the those things, it’s such a teenager, irrelevant thing to do…there was such a feeling of love and unity there what was the point? It was just out of place.” Yeah, have some since of decorum, M.I.A.! You’re embarrassing LMFAO, the greased-up golden gladiators and the guy who bounces on a slackline junk-first!

Madonna echoed a similar sentiment on Carson Daly‘s radio show this morning, even getting into M.I.A.‘s personal apology. “I like her and you know I believe in people having individuality and I like her punk rock attitude,” Madonna said of the “Bad Girls” singer. “I know she feels bad…I accept her apology, but you know, I think she still has her head in the sand right now. I’m not sure,” she admitted. Man, imagine how peeved Madge would be if there had been a full-blown wardrobe malfunction. Wait a minute…we saw right up that slackline guy’s toga! SOMEONE SOUND THE ALARM! BRING US THE EYE BLEACH, QUICKLY!

SJP Talks About Taking On Demi Moore’s “Daunting” Lovelace Role

Sarah Jessica Parker snapped up Demi Moore‘s role in Lovelace pretty soon after Moore had to withdrawal from the film following her alleged drug-related emergency. Looking back…it might have been a little too quick for SJP. “I didn’t know at the time that they were down to their last few days of shooting on the whole movie,” Parker told Entertainment Tonight at last night’s amfAR Gala in New York. “I read the script and didn’t have enough time to think about it properly. [If I had,] I probably would have said no, because it was a daunting experience for lots of obvious and less obvious reasons.” Such as? Come on, Sarah. You cannot leave us hanging like this!

If you recall, there were only two whirlwind days between Demi’s decision to drop out of filming and Sarah landing the part, during which the rumor mill also volleyed names like Mary Louise Parker and Chloe Sevigny as possible replacement Gloria Steinems. Based on the photos snapped on-set of Parker’s famous feminist, she at least looks the part. If we’re basing our assessment solely on her wig (and we are), we’d say SJP’s professional reputation has nothing to worry about.

Is Halle Berry Officially Engaged…And Dealing With Death Threats?

Congratulations, Halle Berry! Also, we are so very sorry! According to TMZ, this must be one confusing time for the Dark Tide star. While Halle is allegedly officially betrothed to gentleman friend Olivier Martinez a month after engagement rumors first popped up, the actress also allegedly received death threats from a named Robert Hoskins. Berry allegedly feels so threatened by Hoskins that she is hoping to move with daughter Nahla Ariela to Martinez’s native France. Is there a card for complicated situations like this? You know what? Nevermind. We’ll just get one that’s blank on the inside.

Sadly this isn’t the first time Halle has had to deal with aggressive stalkers; last July Berry had to filed a restraining order against a man named Richard Franco after he broke into her home..twice. Seeing as how Hoskins is the very same man who was shot by Madonna‘s bodyguards while attempting to break into the singer’s home in 1995, we’d say Halle has every right to be terrified. Why do stalkers have to ruin every engagement? Or even one of them?

Cheer Up, Suge Knight! It’s Just An Arrest!

Suge Knight, it breaks our hearts to see you so completely bummed out like this. Things really aren’t so bad! So, according to TMZ, you got arrested last night in Las Vegas after making an “unsafe lane change” in your Bentley. And, okay, sure, the cops noticed that you had several warrants out for your arrest for minor traffic violations and, yes, maybe they decided to search your car and found a “small amount” of marijuana in your possession. Then you posed for the World’s Glummest Celebrity Mugshot. But do you know what Suge Knight calls an arrest in Las Vegas? Wednesday night. Ah…is that a smile we see? We thought so.

Chelsea Handler Discusses Her Teen Pregnancy, Abortion On The Rosie Show

Man, ladies have been keeping it real recently; Jamie Lynn Spears, we’re looking at you here. As you might expect, Chelsea Handler is keeping it realer than most, especially when discussing her teen pregnancy and abortion with Rosie O’Donnell. “I was so delusional,” the Chelsea Lately host revealed on Wednesday’s episode of The Rosie Show. “I was like, ‘I’m ready for a baby.’” Finding herself pregnant at 16, Handler’s parents suggest their daughter get an abortion, which she eventually did. “You’re supposed to create a life for yourself,” she recalls them saying. “We want you to enjoy your life and not be raising a child, and we’re certainly not going to raise it for you.” Oh well, that basically explains how Chelsea Handler can talk openly about anything and everything. Even things that would make other people squirm.

The writer and comedian also opened up about the death of her mother and brother, as well as her unfiltered take on sex and relationships. Concluded Handler, “You should do whatever you want with your body and you shouldn’t let anyone tell you what to do.” Can Rosie O’Donnell just change the name of her show to Real Talk? Can Chelsea Handler just change her actual name to Real Talk?
