This was some episode, huh? The guys on American Idol were great (give or take a couple of hiccups), but let’s be honest: the night belonged to Big Mike. Michael Lynche sealed his fate when he closed the show with a fantastic version of “This Woman’s Work” and we bet Ellen DeGeneres is sorry she wasted her hug on Tim Urban. ‘Cause you can’t be running out of your seat all the time to give hugs, Ellen.
Oh, come on! Another awards show for movie stars after the Oscars? You gotta be kidding! Well, not quite. Despite the attendance of stars like Gwyneth Paltrow, Clive Owen, Hugh Grant and Michelle Rodriguez—who had her trademark leather jacket on over her gown, you go Michelle—Abu Dhabi’s Laureus Awards celebrated the accomplishments of our world’s greatest athletes, including Tony Hawk, Monica Seles and Julius Irving. Who knew Kevin Spacey and Kyle MacLachlan had such love for the game? Or, for that matter, the United Arab Emirates?

Oscar nominee for An Education Carey Mulligan may be in a relationship with Shia LaBeouf, but Oscar-bash photos in a British publication make it clear that her options are open. Mulligan turned super-touchy when Jeremy Renner stopped to say hi at Vanity Fair‘s Oscar afterparty, and witnesses say it’s clear there were sparks.
Corey Feldman has issued a public statement concerning long-time co-star and friend Corey Haim, found dead early this morning at the age 38 from an apparent drug overdose.
I was awakened at 8:30 this morning by my brother and sister knocking on my bedroom door. They informed me of the loss of my brother Corey Haim. My eyes weren’t even open all the way when the tears started streaming down my face. I am so sorry for Corey, his mother Judy, his family, my family, all of our fans, and of course my son who I will have to find a way to explain this to when he gets home from school. This is a tragic loss of a wonderful, beautiful, tormented soul, who will always be my brother, family, and best friend. We must all take this as a lesson in how we treat the people we share this world with while they are still here to make a difference. Please respect our families as we struggle and grieve through this difficult time. I hope the art Corey has left behind will be remembered as the passion of that for which he truly lived.

It was announced today that Mattel is releasing a line of Barbies inspired by the very grown-up AMC series, “Mad Men.” Come July, children everywhere will be able to reenact scenes of sex-driven men, unfulfilled women, and drunken office politics with Joanie, Roger Sterling, and the Drapers. We’ll have to make paper cutouts for our missing favorites – Peggy, Pete Campbell, and Sally Draper. Here are two possible scenarios inspired by the series, cigs and booze not included.

Mel B has been sporting a new look lately that’s not all there – the Spice Girl has partially shaved her head. Reminds us of Cassie‘s look from last year, actually. Whats more is that her two daughters have followed suit.
Mel was seen out and about with baby Angel last week and the tot was sporting one of the more impressive mohawks we’ve seen (Maddox Jolie-Pitt, watch your back). And Mel went out last night with her 11-year-old daughter Phoenix Chi, who is an exact clone of her mom, hair and all. The pair was hanging in L.A. and checking out the premiere of Cats and posed for the cameras with their matching styles. Now we feel bad for yelling “stand up straight!” at Miley Cyrus while watching the Oscars Sunday. The Last Song star explained to VH1 News correspondent Janell Snowden she was in pain due to a broken foot that went castless for the big night. “The bottom of my foot is broken, I broke it while on tour and I don’t have my cast on and it really hurts.” On top of that, she was wearing heels! Forget slumping—we’d have tears streaming down our eyes.

There’s a certain style we associate with Woody Allen, the rumpled, professor look that he’s made his trademark has been working for him for forty years. The khakis, the jacket, the bucket hat he wears while directing, they’re all signature Woody. Which is why we want to warn him that, just as Roman Polanski usurped the title of most pervy film director, Noah Wyle is trying to steal his style. Wyle, seen here at a Lakers game last night has gone from cute emergency room doctor to neurotic New Yorker with just a few key pieces (Converse All-Stars excluded.). Hugh Jackman and daughter Ava weren’t the only Sexiest Man And Cutest Kid Alive pair spending quality time in NYC yesterday. Matthew McConaughey and wife Camila Alves took son Levi McConaughey for walk around the park, with Levi sporting the hat, floppy hair and faded denim you’d expect to see on the scion of the Mateo legacy. “See that brah there, Levi? That’s a pap. Now I told you not to talk to strangers and that goes triple double for them guys with cameras. Bros makin’ their living following cool people around…just pay ‘em no mind.”
