Muse Bassist Disses Twilight, His Million Dollar Meal Ticket

While Muse frontman Matt Bellamy is busy nailing Kate Hudson, bassist Chris Wolstenholme is risking his life by insulting the Twilight franchise…the same franchise that made his band a favorite amongst money-spending Twi-hards around the globe. Muse has appeared on every Twilight soundtrack thus far, and while their dark rock music suits the movies, they’re also a favorite of author Stephenie Meyer. Yes, she has dedicated books to the band. Muse, it seems, is her muse.

But Chris ain’t so sold on the whole ‘appear on a cheesy tween movie soundtrack, get billions of fans’ formula, telling BBC’s Radio 1, “It’s very difficult in America, because you don’t have anything like Radio 1, nothing is national. You have to take every opportunity you get over there, and sometimes you have to sell your soul.”

Chris also added, “I’m not sure how cool it is to be on those kind of things, but sometimes you’ve just got to get your music out there in different ways.”

Oh, we have so many questions. Like, has Chris ever heard of our national radio hero, Ryan Seacrest? Has he listened at all to the 3 soundtracks, which are musically quite kick-ass? Is selling your soul really so bad when it results in you getting to play Madison Square Garden? And also, why is your music so cheesy and crappy?

Oops, did we just insert our personal opinion into this post? Sorry about that…we just have a hard time listening to some guy whine about being on awesome soundtracks with the likes of Bon Iver, Lykke Li, Beck, Bat For Lashes, Grizzly Bear, St. Vincent, Iron and Wine, Robert Pattinson…I mean when it comes to the musical company one keeps, he could be doing a lot worse. Suck it up, Chris! Or at least check out your bursting bank account before you lament the loss of your soul.

Muse don’t need to diss Twilight in order to look cool.

All they need to do to be ‘cool’ again and retain some of their musical credibility, is to release a single that isn’t #`(^(!*@!~^(+!*+ The last couple of releases ranged from uninspired to god-awful.

So Muse, stop dissing stupid Twilight and show me (and all your loyal record/concert ticket/merchandise buying fans) that you HAVEN’T lost the ability to produce extraordinary music.

Bellamy can nail whichever groupie he wants, including Kate ‘PLASTIC’ Hudson, but please write a decent song again!

    @ BLOG LOVER

The whole point of the hate to the writer is that Chris nor Muse are greedy, and the quote was twisted for the journalist’s own use.

Kate, You obviously don’t know Chris at all. Chris has never done anything for Fame, but maybe for money (only because he has a family to feed). you outrageously over-exaggerate how much of what Chris said is a “Insult” to the Twilight Franchise and even dare to take to take a jab at the private lives of the Band.

Twilight is simply the new “Fad” just like Harry Potter was the New fad all those years ago and soon the Harry Potter “fad” will come to an end just like Twilight will. now what Chris is saying is that He his unsure whether he wants the band to be #(*~%_%(*`!!!)` ociated with any sort of “fad” in order to grow in popularity in the United States. as a Muser, I believe muse would much rather be recognised for the Music they make and the Incredible live shows they perform.By the way Madison square garden is only holds an audience of 20,000 for a Concert, Whilst Wembley Stadium in London (which they played long before twilight) Holds around 100,000 (I have done my research, I #(*~%_%(*`!!!)` ure you) and by the way, they were the first band to completely sell out wembley stadium back in 2007. hope this makes you see that a small Madison Square garden isn’t the height of MUSE’s career. Muse also set to return to do two more shows in Wembley stadium this september. this not to mention all the Stadiums they play across the world.

It’s honestly quite depressing how this whole website, Your “journalism” is so much worse than most tabloid journalism I have read (which pretty much vomit already). just wants to exploit celebrities lives and put quite a false spin on any story they can get.

PS. I have no ##$_#~#_#~ Idea who “Bon Iver, Lykke Li, Beck, Bat For Lashes, Grizzly Bear, St. Vincent, Iron and Wine” are. Maybe this because In the United Kingdom, so excuse my British Ignorance.

Now #~#_# Off and have a Nice day.

Oh, and ‘nailing Kate Hudson’ – please, grow up.

Honestly, this is a load of pretentious wank.

Wow.Haven’t read such a fuck for a long time. Srsly, that’s awful.
It’s out of your business who is in a relationship with whom or what they are doing. that at first.
Second, Chris just said what is/was in his mind, and I don’t see anything negative about that. And I mean, he’s right, c’mon, an in sun sparkling, not burning, vampire?! Are you kidding?
In fact, Muse were popular before Twilight as well, and really don’t need the “support” from Twilight. Neither they need these teen and brainless fans.
They call themselves an “underground band” and I’m afraid if they will stay like that with all this Twilight stuff around.
