Water For Elephants, Oscar For Rob?

When recently asked by fans, Oscar-winner and Water For Elephants co-star Christoph Waltz revved the engines of all Twi-hards with the prospect of an Academy Award for Robert Pattinson (photos). The critically-beloved villain of last year’s Inglourious Basterds said ”the way things are looking, I might have to hand [my Oscar] off to Rob next year!”

An Oscar would certainly bode well for RPattz’s career beyond Edward Cullen, but is Waltz jumping the gun? Or should we place some early bird bets on the 2012 Academy Awards? [Source: HollywoodLife]

LOL…an OSCAR..please! Someone teach this guy how to act before we start talking OSCARS. His rabid fanbase can’t vote for the real awards, so Mr. Pattz is a long way off from seeing the gold man.

Yes and the producers of Water for Elephants engaged actors and directors who either won an Oscar or were nominated for an Oscar, but for their leading part they choose someone who can’t act?? Why not, ’cause they like their movie te be ruined ! The same for Bel ami, he got the part because he can’t act? Those who offer Rob these roles are all in the movie industry and very experienced. They know damn well he can act, you never succeed only by good looks, not on the level he’s working know. He has to learn as Depp had to and Pitt and others, but he will and Hollywood knows that very well. For an Oscar: not with WFE, I thing it’s too soon and the role isn’t perhaps challenging enough.

Everybody is a critic, and I agree that it is too soon to be talking Oscars for Robert, but to count him out completely without giving him a chance is the other side of the spectrum. Despite the Twilight movies, Remember Me was actually a decent, well made movie, and I thought that he turned in a really good performance. Many critics, even some of the critics that butchered Remember Me still gave Robert credit for his performance. Since I am a big fan of the book,WFE, I am very interested in how the movie will turn out, and I’m looking forward to seeing it. I think that Robert has great stage presence ,and I’m pulling for him.

i think its funny so many of you are quick to judge him based on the twilight movies. i hated the twilight movies, but i did see remember me he was pretty good in it. he is picking the right roles, and trying to break away from the twilight bubble. he is young and he has plenty of time. i think no thought of george clooney winning any oscars when he was on the facts of life and er.
