Well here’s a pairing certain to get Funny Or Die dorks excited. The Hollywood Reporter says that Zooey Deschanel and Rashida Jones will play a couple in the upcoming movie My Idiot Brother, concerning a slobby Paul Rudd‘s attempts to avoid living at his uptight mom’s by staying with his ambitious sisters instead (Elizabeth Banks and Emily Mortimer will join Deschanel as his siblings). While Deschanel and Jones have never worked together before, both are popular hipster daughters of behind-the-scenes legends (cinematographer Caleb Deschanel and producer Quincy Jones), both have musical careers and both have spent plenty of time playing girlfriends in bro comedies (Jones even played Rudd’s in I Love You, Man).
While the coupling of Deschanel and Jones should help Brother pass the Bechdel Test, it’s kind of disappointing their scenes will just be background for a more gender-centric You, Me & Dupree. Banks, Deschanel, Jones, Mortimer have all done time in the comedy trenches (and we’re guessing the same will go for whoever plays the mom)—will this movie let them show their skills or just have them gawking at Rudd’s goofiness? We should find out sometime next year.

Mr. Jones, do you live in the ghetto? I am assuming that you do not. You are educated, or at the very least appear to have some common sense. So you probably live in a mixed community. Then if so, why? Why do blacks leave the ghetto? Culturally, everyone there have something in common. It was proven that the integration of blacks from ghettos into white schools was a mistake. Neither of the races liked being together. A cultural thing. It is understandable. All the black kids needed was new schools in their neighborhood with educators that wanted to be there. Hell, that was a government mistake. But both races had to pay for it. Why are so many people leaving the ghetto instead of fixing it up? Because of crime. The black youth in these areas do not want to integrate into a white society. Not unless it is on their terms. I have been told more than once that blacks dont like whites right now because of the slavery issue. Not that current whites had anything to do with it. But that we reap the benefits today off of the black mans back of your ancestors. You may or may not subscribe to that way of thinking. But unfortunately, to many of your race do. And that hurts your race Mr. Jones. My Dad is a self employed contractor, and my Mother worked in a textiles plant for over thirty years. My great grand father came from Germany just before world war one. Nobody in my family had a damn thing to do with slaves. Working on farms in rural Iowa without anyones help is what they are guilty of. So my people owe yours? After leaving Iowa to join the Navy, all I heard was how bad the white race was in my berthing area. It was around sevety five percent black. I saw some of my shipmates get their racks pissed in because they were white. Others stolen from. There was a huge absence of civility in our living quarters. How do you defend yourself when you are grossly outnumbered? At least without going to Captains Mass? Why should whites have to put up with animals? I have spent the last twenty years in the south Mr. Jones. I have had to instruct my wife in small arms. She has been chased in fear of her life by three black girls for merely telling them to go to work. The chase went through two counties. Since then my wife has toughened up and takes no shit from anyone. She also carries a fortyfive that she is proficient with. Our daily lives are not conducted by watching out for terrorist. It is conducted watching out for thugs and blacks. Why do we have to live this way Mr. Jones? Why should I fear for my family? In the blog that I wrote earlier, I gave you two ideas that would make my families life better and make a safer United States overall. You took offense to it. I dont blame you. You suggested that I would be the one to leave to my ancestors homeland. If you can guarantee me the hundred thousand for ten years, then I will go. I also want my V.A. compensation to. I have earned it. My ancestors are from Spain, Germany, and Ireland. You can pick the country. This country is about to become as socialist as those. So whats the difference? You know its funny how all of the minorities run to the western world, then try to change it. Oh by the way. You said it was irrelevant that I told you that I was a bigot. That is not true. I just took the opportunity for you to call me one away. And I am sure that you appreciated the honesty. And you know Mr. Jones, that if whites were as aggressive as blacks are.. instead of feeling ashamed of their heritage, then you could write the story of cowboys and niggers. Good luck with your book.
