Kristen Stewart‘s comparision of photographers to rapists in Elle recently may have been over the top, but there’s no denying things have gotten out of hand. Kristen and Taylor Lautner departed Sydney yesterday when security and photographers began fighting over access to the Twilight stars. Here’s one pap’s account:
Photographers descended upon the stars eager to send them off on there way with a few photos under their belt! The scene soon turned to chaos as security manhandled and assaulted photographers, people were punched, thrown to the ground and pushed out of the way while police threatened to arrest photographers while they watched on as the pack was assaulted by hired goons, Twilight security, while Kristen and Taylor hid behind their minders.
Now that’s some unbiased reporting! If Kristen’s security really was allowed to pummel photographers while police looked on and threatened the victims, we’re guessing she wouldn’t be so upset. But with the Eclipse star also accused of cursing out photographers after enjoying a cruise down under, maybe she should cut down on the endless photo ops if she can’t handle hordes of people showing up at them. It’s not like she’s going to get much sympathy from fans who wish Robert Pattinson was their alleged lover. Either way, with Breaking Dawn not scheduled for release until November 2011, it looks like she’ll have to take this crap for a bit longer…though possibly not much longer than that.

I think kristen needs to respond more appropriately in promotional settings and all, but the paps are freaks too and say sexual things to her to get a rise and reaction. I have more sympathy for Kristen right now.
Anyone has a right to be frustrated when they’re being harassed. Yes, it comes with the celebrity lifestyle, but she never asked for this. There comes a point when the paps need to calm down.
I almost cried when I saw these pictures. No one has the right to yell things and mob a young girl. In any other job, that is would be harassment, and would be dealt with. I don’t care if she is a star, she doesn’t deserve to be treated like this. Also, your comment about fans not being sympathetic because of her relationship with Rob is not true. There are many fans that care about both Rob and Kristen, and wish that they didn’t have to put up with the paps everywhere they go. I understand promotion is part of their job, but with legit press, not paps.
I was on the red carpet for Remember Me, and the photographers were insane. Screaming horrible things to get the stars to pose. When Rob entered, it was a complete mad house. There was one woman in particular who was wailing. It was insane…and this was a carpet! Can only imagine how awful the paps must be. Promotion comes with the territory, but harassment should not (me thinks).
Kristen ABSOLUTELY has a right to be upset. Those photogs are overly aggressive, intrusive and need to back off!
The papz are not a photo op. No releases are signed and they follow no rules – the actors are unprepared and not consenting. The verbal and sometimes physical $)^+)$&%@%~)(@# aults they employ are in no way like a photo op or promotion. I’m a survivor of domestic abuse (a long history of it). I can tell you that the bruises heal and you can put the physical $)^+)$&%@%~)(@# ault behind you eventually, but you’ll struggle unending years of pain from the emotional scars that don’t heal and the psychological bruises that don’t show from a verbal $)^+)$&%@%~)(@# aults. It’s a prison in the mind and you struggle with it. They don’t show that in the photos. You suffer in silence because no one can see it or understand it like they would a broken limb. The things they yell at her are even censored from the porn industry – if that gives you a clue. She’s just little, sensitive to her environment and 20. It breaks my heart and I feel like I’m living it all over again to see it.
Endless photo ops? Trying to get through the airport (in a beanie or dark sunglasses) and ducking out on a balcony for a smoke aren’t photo ops. She’s got my sympathy. The paps sure don’t!
The paparazzi are a mob out of control. I don’t think that Kristen’s comment about rape is that far off. After all, what’s rape? A violation. The paparazzi might not commit a physical violation, but they do an emotional and mental one. Invading personal space and throwing out every singe insult and rude comment they can think off. Who can enjoy that? If any other person was hounded like that they would call the cops and expect something to be done about it. Why should Kristen or any other celebrity for that matter be forced to suck it up and deal with it? This wasn’t a photo op, this was her walking through an airport. Millions of people do that every day, and they don’t have to deal with crap like this.
How is trying to board a plane an “endless photo op”?
get over it or go away! actually, get over it AND go away! if you can’t take it, give it to somebody who’ll be grateful for the opportunities you take for granted!
It’s interesting how she can manage to go through airports without being detected when she wants to, and has even said that it’s possible to sneak in and out, but the papparazzi conveniently swarm in when kristen puts her foot in her mouth (and her middle finger in the air) to make her look like a victim.
This whole things seems a little staged IMO. Damage Control. Where are the pics of taylor? He was there, too. Convenient that there are no pics of him.
What I find more interesting about this whole Sydney aiport chaos is that Taylor managed to get into the airport and through it without being papped. I also find it pretty interesting that they had so many security guys ready to tussle with the photogs as if they KNEW what was going to go down. Kind of makes one wonder if this little episode is damage control for Kristen’s stupid %!%^@~+_^“^*)% rape comments and her flipping the bird at least three times to Papparazzi in the days preceeding this “attack” at the airport. What better way to get thoughts off the comparison to rape than to make everyone feel sorry for this girl being mobbed by the photogs?
I’m sorry if this isn’t what happened and there’sa part of me that — as a human — can feel worry for another but people are acting as if Kristen Stewart is the only celebrity ever having to deal with these morons with cameras. Try talking to Sandra Bullock right about now? Kristen would also be smart to take a page out of Bullock’s book of grace under pressure and how to handle extreme scrutiny and the glare that often comes with being hunted as a celebrity. Furthermore, maybe flipping off the pappz and cursing at them isn’t a very smart thing to do if Stewart can’t handle the heat she’s helping to make. I mean, does she really think that will get them to treat her better? I’m sure her little comment and her antics in Sydney just riled them up more. They got a response out of her that made them money and now they’re going to go after more responses just like the ones she gave them. It’s not rocket science. She brings much of this on herself with her mouth and her attitude and that makes it difficult to feel sorry for her, tbh.
Finally, if she can’t handle being a celebrity and find a way to survive it with some grace then I might suggest that there are a million other girls out there who would die to be given the opportunities she has been given. She’s a very lucky girl who has been blessed with opportunities that people just dream of and it would due her image a whole lot of good if she would start acting as if she knows that. Sneering, cursing, flipping people off and complaing 24/7 about her horribly hard life is not going to win her a break with the pappz nor will it win her anymore fans.
And speaking of taking a page from someone’s book? How about her “boyfriend’s”? Pattinson has had it a gazillion times harder than this chic in terms of glare and being hunted and being photographed over the past 2.5 years. He’s been dealing with it since before Twilight premiered and it only got worse for Stewart when she was romantically tied to him. Yet Pattinson deals with it gracefully and makes certain that people know he’s grateful and a very “lucky &`&@^*$_~~@(!*(__!_ The pappz are crazy and horrible and a pain for all celebrities but the bottom line is Kristen Stewart needs to grow up or get out. It’s very simple.

I wanted to send a suggestion out to this Margaret Lazarus that thinks that Kristen Stewarts choice of words towards what she feels the paparazzi are doing to her is wrong. I am a victom of multiple sexual $%_)@*~#*+$)^`) aults against myself as a child and later in my adulthood. But I know there ARE other forms of rape towards a person than just sexual. This woman needs to get a life, and STOP using sexual $%_)@*~#*+$)^`) ault victoms and what we’ve gone through; so that she can get her 15 minutes of fame off the back of a celeberity. Kristen hang in there girl!!! And NO apology or retraction of yours are needed. I do feel you and people in your business are completely being RAPED! Our government needs to put a stop to these photogragher freaks!!!
