Shakira‘s on a mission! She’s heading down to Phoenix, Arizona to campaign against the controversial new immigration law. She’s also slated to speak to the mayor, Phil Gordon who’s a strong critic of the statute, which the NY Times called “the nation’s toughest bill on illegal immigration.” The Grammy-winning singer-songwriter will also be speaking to various city officials and families who could be affected by this turn of events.
The newly enacted immigration law has come under harsh criticism from Hispanic groups, organized labor and civil liberties activists. They’re claiming that Arizona’s new law is unconstitutional and say that it will only lead to ethnic profiling. Shakira’s political adviser, Trevor Nielson, says that the Colombian singer “is deeply concerned about the impact of this law on hardworking Latino families.”

Shakira is not relevant, never was, never will be, Bon Jovi has more credit then her and that’s not saying alot. Who cares what she thinks, she already has all the fans she’ll ever have, “look…a falling star”. No one cares what she thinks. The issue is immigration. Some say my parents were illegal and look at me now, so……that’s you. A higher percentage go to a more illegal life. Two illegals rob a house in Texas, one gets shot and sues the home owner, that’s not right on any level. I have in-laws are that illegal and legal. The ones that are illegal are not criminals, but that doesn’t mean they have the right to be here. Come here the legal way, that’s the law. Come here illegally and get your butt thrown back to where you came from (cananda, mexico,africa,iran, mars), that’s the law. The people of Arizona voted those politicians to office, and now there working. Deal with it. If you say there not doing the will of the people, then look at the health care bill, that’s not the will of the people either, but it’s happening. Deal with it like the rest of us.

Omar 831 learn what the bill is about before you open your mouth. Who gives a crap about color of skin. ANYONE can be an illegal immigrant. A WHITE person from Canada can be illegal. Get your facts straight. It’s not about color, it’s about being here ILLEGALLY that’s the issue. Do you agree people should come here and get everything handed to them? Legal citizens of this country fight every day for health care and insurance costs and people come in this country from Mexico or anywhere else and get free health care that OUR tax dollars pay for. I think its great that shes standing up for the community because this law not only will effect latinos but non latinos as well. anyone want to tell me whos going to cook in the restaurants and who is going to clean. This country is so backwards. We preach to other countries about human rights violations when it’s happening in our own backyard, especially in the state of Arizona. By banning voluntary ethnic studies in grades K-12 and this racist “”present your papers” law are merely an outcry of white cultural insecurity.

I personally was almost run over by illegal immigrants, and almost died, in a hit and run. They were never found, the car disappeared, and the police had no clue where to look! When you go to the hospital, or emergency room, even outpatient care, they are NOT allowed to turn anyone down for healthcare. No wonder people believe anything they hear on T.V. Read the bill for yourself if it’s that much of an issue. I am GLAD this is happening. Most Citizen cant find a job because of the illegal immigrants. Our economy is falling, i pay my taxes like any other citizen. The immigrants come here thinking everything free, they get on benefits like food stamps, Medicaid, hospitals. All that comes out of our pockets were working for them? I hope the bill passes in every state. We have no rights in their country, why should they be allowed to stay here..
