So Paula’s Not Doing “Star Search” Now

Earlier in the week, we excitedly told you that Paula Abdul was gearing up to host yet another talent competition, this time a revamp of our old fave, Star Search. Once again though, Paula’s contract disputes and a push for a huge payout have put that rumor to bed.

Abdul was reportedly offered $5 million to remain at American Idol this season, a figure that she rejected since, after all, Simon Cowell‘s judging expertise was going to net him eight bajillion dollars*. (*Approximate figure.)

Star Search and the ABC network were willing to offer her even less, at which point Paula decided enough was enough with the lowballing**, and she took herself out of the running. (**Sarcasm.)

At this point, we’re not sure what amount of money will appease Paula, she does realize we’re in a recession, right? [Photo: Getty Images]

Why does one have to bring the word recession when talking in context of Paula Abdul.
All popular celebrities are paid based on how many fans they have and how many will watch them and bring in the audience. And Paula does have many admirers and fans who want to watch her on a show. So why if other are paid millions , why not Paula ?
Ok so she does not deserve the paycheck as Simon who makes millions – I think that
Paula deserves atleast 10 Million dollars.
