See if you can find the umpteen things wrong with this story—and we’re not even talking about whether it’s true. The National Enquirer says Jamie Spears won’t allow his daughter to talk to former friend Lindsay Lohan. “The trouble started when Lindsay reached out to Britney for advice on getting her career back on track,” says their source. “When Britney mentioned it to Jamie, he exploded. He instantly phoned Lindsay’s managers and told them he would not tolerate further attempts to contact his daughter. Britney’s so totally humiliated…It’s embarrassing for her that she’s 28 years old, but her dad gets to tell her who her friends will be.”
We don’t know who to feel sorrier for. On one hand, we have a mother of two whose father controls her every move. On the other, we have a troubled young actress so desperate for guidance she’s calling Britney Spears. While we appreciate Mr. Spears’ desire to keep Brit from bad influences, these girls should at least be allowed to spend some time in group therapy together.

I wouldn’t let her hang with Lindsey Lohan either. Brittany Spears is doing so much better and all Lohan would do is drag her back to her level. Parents have to intervene sometimes.
