Ryan Seacrest Convinces J.Lo To Perform Live On New Year’s Eve

Jennifer Lopez is a woman in charge; but there is one guy who can influence the diva. Not hubby Marc Anthony – but Ryan Seacrest! The American Idol host has persuaded J.Lo to perform live in Times Square tonight. New Year’s Rockin’ Eve producer Larry Klein dishes on how it all went down. “Jennifer was onstage in rehearsals at the AMAs and her manager Benny Medina was sitting next to me, and I said, ‘Right now I’m looking at Times Square, New Year’s Eve. You’ve got to join us that night,’” he says.

But it was really Ryan Seacrest who sealed the deal. “It started there [at the AMAs], and then, no kidding, Marc and Jennifer came over to my house and literally walked through what it would be like in Times Square, and now we’ve got a stage built here [in that spot in my house]. That’s exactly what happened,” explained Ryan. “It’s a small house! You can put that in there,” joked the host.

This fantastical gothic version of Lewis Carroll’s classic tale is sure to be visually stunning and over-the-top. Naturally Johnny Depp is The Mad Hatter, while Australian actress Mia Wasikowska snagged the role as Alice. Burton’s wife Helena Bonham Carter plays the part of The Red Queen with Anne Hathaway as The White Queen. Other highlights include Alan Rickman as The Caterpillar and Michael Sheen as The White Rabbit. Can you feel our excitement?

Michael Lohan Goes Clubbing With Gosselin Ex Kate Major

Whether you believe Michael Lohan beat ex-fiancee Erin Muller or is merely threatening to tell us all her dirty secrets, you may wonder what woman (if any) would next spend time with Lindsay Lohan‘s profoundly estranged father. According to Page Six, that lucky lady is former Star magazine reporter Kate Major, whom you might remember from her brief but torrid dalliance with Jon Gosselin. Seems she was spotted clubhopping with Mr. Lohan in Chicago Sunday, and enjoying dinner on Tuesday. “Kate kept talking about a ring that Michael bought her,” said their source. “She was wearing it on her middle finger.”

Don’t expect it to move to her ring finger anytime soon, though. “Kate and I are friends. She went to Chicago to visit her family after Christmas, and I had business in Chicago.” Yes, they’re probably just pals who stuck together after JoGo went on his less-than-merry way. Besides, judging by his foaming over his ex on Twitter (“I am not the one who has been on Psychotropics, an alcoholic, drug and sex addict.Wait till her next victim sees for him/herself (that’s right)”), it’s not like he seems to be in a romantic mood anyway.

Mirror, mirror on the wall which celebrity has the most desirable body of them all? 2009 was all about the curves! In a recent poll, Kate Winslet was named as the most desirable, while curvy stars Halle Berry, Cheryl Cole, Beyonce and Lily Allen made the cut. Bringing up the rear were teeny tiny celebs Victoria Beckham and Kate Moss.

Dr. Jacquie Lavin, who commissioned the YouGov poll, says, “It shows a positive shift that women are more likely to see Kate Winslet and Kelly Brook as the ideal body shape rather than Kate Moss or Victoria Beckham.”

Kids! If one gets quality time with paparazzi, you just know the others will be screaming for their slice of the limelight. A day after Brad Pitt took daughters Zahara and Shiloh to say hi to mom Angelina Jolie on the set of Salt, papa treated sons Pax and Maddox (and four bodyguards) to Dave & Buster’s in Times Square for some bro time (literally—Brad’s brother Doug was there as well). According to Us Magazine, Brad even gave his extra game cards to other children at the arcade. Watch out, Brad—it starts with free arcade games, but before you know it you’re buying Cadillacs for people on the street. Not that kids should be taking gifts from grody, bearded strangers anyway.

Kate Gosselin To Do Reality Dating?

TLC may have put a leash on Jon Gosselin, but as far as his wife’s concerned, they’ll let a player play. PopEater hears that Kate Gosselin is taking meetings for a new reality dating show. “Love her or hate her, people are fascinated by Kate,” says their source. “she has a lot of mouths to feed and Kate looking for love will certainly put bread on the table.” Can we get Nadya Suleman now that her rumored dating show with Jon is history? Sort of a 2010, post-fertility medication take on Kate & Allie?

While Dating Kate (best name we can think of) is only in the “development stage,” Mama Bear is undoubtedly planning a TV comeback (she already said as such to Jay Leno earlier this month). But that doesn’t mean she wants back into the world of tabloid drama—when inquisitive paps brought up JoGo’s feud with Hailey Glassman while shopping in reading, Kate just blitzed on by. Maybe she wants to let her ex crash and burn before stepping back into the limelight.
