Nicole Richie: Maternity Designer

Remember the old Nicole Richie from The Simple Life days? We barely do either! Since giving birth to adorable Harlow Madden, her first child with Joel Madden, Richie has evolved and is now a style icon, doting mom and designer. With her latest venture, she gets to combine all three of those passions; she will be designing a line of maternity clothes for A Pea In The Pod.

Richie wrote in her blog, “Pea in the Pod and I joined to create a capsule collection of maternity wear that will be available in stores this summer. Last weekend I shot some images for the campaign with one of my favorite photographers, James White. I’m really excited for you all to see the new collection.”

Gwyneth Loves Spain, Like, Soooo Much

In an interview with the Associated Press recently, Gwyneth Paltrow not only spoke fluent Spanish for the entire thing, but she gushed about how amazing she, uh, we mean Spain, is. Not the first time Gwynnie has gushed about an adopted home, a few years ago she compared America to the UK and said, “The British are much more intelligent and civilized than the Americans.”

When asked about her love for Spain, Paltrow said: “It is so different from the United States. It seemed to have a history, and the buildings are years and years and years old. Here in the United States an old building is about 17 (years old), and over there it’s from 500 B.C., it’s incredible.” We think that’s great and technically we agree Spain is a beautiful, historic place, it’s just that, when Gwyneth says it, doesn’t it just sound kind of condescending? Here are a few more things that made our stomachs turn.

1. Gwyneth launched a Spanish-language version of her website, GOOP.com.
2. Gwyneth speaks to her children in Spanish at home (big whoop, we learned how to count to 20 in Spanish from Sesame Street).
3. Gwyneth would love to take an acting role in Spanish. Hey, if Penelope Cruz can keep getting work in English, anything es posible.
4. Gwyneth is writing a cookbook on Spanish-influenced cuisine.

Oh, por favor. We used to think Paltrow was cool but lately it’s all gotten to be too much. Makes us want to have at our old Rosetta Stone tapes so we can say with proper inflection, “Hey lady, don’t forget about Shallow Hal! That was you in that fat suit.” [Photo: WireImage]

M.J. Fans Can Hardly Wait For Official Memorial, Burial

With plans to have a public viewing of Michael Jackson‘s body at the Neverland Ranch falling through, the Jackson family is trying to arrange a tribute at L.A.’s Staples Center on Tuesday morning. Regardless of when and where the memorial is held, the details need to be worked out — and fast. We’re seeing impromptu memorials popping up everywhere (New York paid tribute at the Apollo Theater) — and we’re worried that die-hard fans won’t rest until tribute is paid at an official event backed by M.J.’s family. We wouldn’t want anyone to moonwalk themselves to death, would we?

In addition to the memorial being up in the air, there’s no word yet as to when or where Michael’s body will be buried. Since Neverland Ranch is not an established burial site, it will be legally challenging to make it the King of Pop’s final resting place. According to E! Online, Jackson’s family has not yet filed a death certificate — a step that needs to be taken before a body can be buried. Jackson’s body, which will not be a part of the Staples Center tribute, is thought to be located at L.A.’s Forest Lawn cemetery.

Bodyguard: M.J. Had Drug Addiction And Secret Girlfriend

Michael Jackson‘s former bodyguard is not only claiming that doctors kept M.J. pumped full of pain killers, but says the singer had a secret girlfriend (who was of legal age). “I never witnessed him actually taking drugs but I knew they were there,” says British martial arts expert Matt Fiddles. He believes that M.J. was addicted to pain killers prescribed to the star by doctors. “We went to great efforts to keep the doctors away,” reveals the bodyguard. “But as soon as we said anything and it got back to Michael, Michael would have a screaming fit that we were interfering with his private life…As far as I’m concerned they have Michael’s blood on their hands.”

TMZ is also reporting that the DEA is assisting the LAPD in investigating possible doctors who may have prescribed Michael with drugs illegally. According to the site, Jackson may have used various aliases to score the prescription drugs, which may have included Demerol and the powerful anesthetic Propofol.

Fiddles also insists that Michael had “someone special” in his life, a secret girlfriend that no fans knew existed. “I’m not going to name who she is,” said Fiddles, “but I think the family were aware that there was someone special in his life who he loved and adored and had his ups and downs with. I don’t know how long they’ve been a couple. I know she’s been with him for some time in different capacities but… it’s up to her if she wants it to come out or the family to speak about this very private information.”

Paula Abdul To Guest Star On Lifetime Show

We still can’t quite believe that the premise of the upcoming Lifetime series Drop Dead Diva is real: “dead model comes back to life in the body of a plus-sized attorney.” We’re sure there a lot of life lessons about superficiality and cross promotion with Dove’s Campaign for Real Beauty to be explored here. There is one thing to look forward to though — American Idol judge Paula Abdul will be a guest star. Finally, we get to see Paula’s acting chops surface! And you thought her dramatic stint in the “Rush, Rush” video was a one-off.

Paula may seem ubiquitous, with Idol and her reality show Hey Paula! and her choreography, but she has rarely had a real acting job. The role won’t be a huge stretch though, Abdul will play a judge. Presumably a judge who doesn’t have to use the words “artistry” or “you have a long career ahead of you” in her rulings. The episode is set to air in September. [Getty Images]

Hayden Panettiere gets naked in her new movie, I Love You, Beth Cooper, and she wants the world to know that every inch of skin was her own. “If I can’t flaunt it at 20, come on! I mean I might as well show it now,” she said while promoting the flick.

The actress also wants us all to know that she was, in fact, totally nekkid while shooting. “I was really naked. I had these little sticky petals on my boobs, but that was about it,” she boasted. “My dad calls me such an exhibitionist. He always says, ‘God, even when you were little, you were such an exhibitionist’.”

Kevin Jonas Gets Engaged

Attention delusional tweens everywhere: Kevin Jonas is officially off the market. The eldest Jonas brother, all of 21 years old, announced his engagement to girlfriend Danielle Deleasa yesterday. The pair met while vacationing with their families in the Bahamas two years ago, Deleasa is a former hair stylist. Jonas flew to Deleasa’s home in New Jersey immediately after a Vancouver concert to pop the question.

“It was tough performing last night, knowing that I was going to ask the biggest question in my life to the most amazing girl in the world. She said yes, yes, yes like 500 times super fast in a row,” he told People. Purity ring, prepare to be removed.

Jonas has the approval of his brothers too, who Twittered about the engagement , saying “Congrats big brother…..Dani welcome to the family, we can’t wait to have you join us on the road!” The Jonases’ fans may have one less brother to choose from now, but don’t think of it as losing a Jonas, think of it as gaining a hairdresser from New Jersey.
