No wonder Kim Kardashian is always texting on her phone – girl is making big money every time she tweets. According to a report out this week, Kim earns up to $10,000 per tweet she posts on her Twitter account as part of her contract with in-stream advertising company Ad.ly. Kim is straight running things over there: According to the report, the reality star is the most popular celebrity on their roster of celebrity earners and the highest earner. The former sex-tape queen has over 2 million followers and often mentions products from Reebok EasyTone and Carl’s Jr, companies with whom she has contracts.
Although Kim plugs her tennis shoes and chicken salads, Derek Rey, co-founder of Ad.ly, says they limit her to one paid tweet per day so as to not alienate her audience. Indeed Kim has tons of other things to tweet about, like her sister’s new baby or Reggie Bush‘s recent Connect Four win. So think twice next time you see Kim texting away. Hate to say it, but it makes sense. If anyone could accumulate 2.7 million Twitter followers they could make a good living sending out Tweets. It’s all about reach, and Kim provides that on Twitter
