You might be skeptical hearing engagement rumors about Jake Gyllenhaal and Reese Witherspoon so soon after People said the couple broke up, but according to PopEater, the split story may have inspired the Brothers star to get a ring. “Jake is planning to pop the question over the holidays and couldn’t be more excited,” says the site’s source. “Her children love him, his family loves her and now it’s time to make it official. Reese is a traditional sort of lady, which is one of the many things Jake adores about her, and Christmas is her favorite holiday.” Of course, now that all us gossip mongers are saying what’s allegedly in Santa’s bag, it’s hard to believe this romantic scenario will go according to plan—if there even is a plan.

Old fashioned lady…maybe. But I can’t keep from thinking that if they do get engaged or even married, it would be for publicity. I’m sure that they are great friends who need a cover, but that if she [Reese] were really in love, she would be hanging all over whatever hot man it was, and it wouldn’t be cute…It would be HOT!!!
Reese always looks like she is shy, but probably embarrased by the situation. It is NOT the look of love. And just like his movie, with [Heath] who didn’t seem to like his role as much as [Jake] did, I’d predict the marriage would be a lot like [Jakes] was in the movie!!! And Reese knows it, so she always has this smirk on her face, like the cat who swallowed the canary.
She needs to do herself a favor, and find herself a Real Man who can take her to the moon!!!
I hope she’s not like Jennifer Aniston, who wants to wait …until her ex-hubby gets sick of this plain-looking Australian broad, and comes home to roost, with his first love & original, beautiful wife & kids. Jake certainly isn’t her answer!!!
