Lily Allen is planning on hanging up her mic and those awkward rhyming couplets about London town and men’s crapness in bed in exchange for becoming an actress. The singer has signed up to star in a Neil LaBute play called Reasons To Be Pretty, and is even having training from the prestigious Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts to ready her for the role.

“I’ve been on the road for four years and I’ve given my voice a real run for its money. I’m struggling, so I’m going to try something new…They want me to play the lead, which is amazing and terrifying,” she said.

Lily’s dad Keith is a well-known actor in the UK and her brother Alfie has also turned his hand to the craft so, *crosses fingers* this might not be the same sort of career-broadening disaster that has befallen other stars like Britney Spears and Mariah Carey in the past. [Photo: Splash News Online]
