Why Is Katy Perry Ruining Our Memories?

Back in college we went to the Warped Tour a few times and we took away memories of dirty, hot summer days in our Vans slip-ons watching bands like the Mighty Mighty Bosstones, Bouncing Souls, and the Dropkick Murphys. So what gives, Warped Tour, why is Katy Perry doing her schtick on your stage? Yes, it’s true, we’re tired of Perry, but we also just don’t see how she fits in to this tour’s aesthetic.

At a concert celebrating the 15th anniversary of the music festival, Perry took to the stage with a giant inflatable lipstick — not exactly what we picture when we think of the Warped Tour. The concert was filmed and will be released in theaters as a one-night event on September 17 — guess we’ll have to hold off before we really judge her until then.
