Kara DioGuardi Will Not Be Outdone

American Idol judge Kara DioGuardi was responsible for penning the universally loathed season 8 finale song “No Boundaries.” We’ve spent countless hours thinking about how bad this song was, and we clearly weren’t alone — even Kris Allen opted to cut it from his set list during the Idol Summer Tour. Seems like Kara isn’t willing to let us forget the craptastic ballad though, she has re-recorded it on her own and released it on YouTube so America will have yet another version to deal with.

To be fair, her version sounds better than either Kris Allen or Adam Lambert‘s renditions. However, let’s face it, it’s still a pretty sucky song. What say you, does her rendition give the song the respect it deserves, or is it superfluous and pointless to release this three months after the fact? [Photo: Getty Images]

She is a joke and has never written a classic. She is perfect for Idol since they are looking for drama and not singers.

I actually really like this song. I don’t know what the big stink is all about. I know I couldn’t write a song if my life depended on it and I don’t think most of the people who are complaining could either. I think those people may have a different agenda other than the song.

Kara, this show isn’t going to legitimize your “career,” so you may want to stop forcing it. “No Boundaries” was truly awful and I can’t believe it got cleared for broadcast. Embarrassing from start to finish!!

I like this song. And I liked when Kris Allen sang it too.

    I liked Adam’s version….

It’s a much better song with DioGuardi singing it. Those who criticize her career need to know what they’re talking about. She’s a much sought after songwriter with a huge discography having written hits for Celine Dion, Kelly Clarkson, Britney Spears, Ricky Martin, Kylie Minogue, and the list goes on. People look foolish when they criticize someone so successful. Just because you don’t like it doesn’t mean it has no value. I don’t like some of the biggest hits in history. This doesn’t negate them, it merely is a matter of personal taste. As far as writing a “classic”, a song cannot be considered a classic until it has survived for at least 10 years and remained relevant. I don’t think most of her songs are that old.

I didn’t care for the song that much on American Idol. I thought Kris and Adam were singing it out of their range and it didn’t sound good. However, I really like Kara’s version. I think the song is meant for a womans voice and she sounds great on it.

Kara sings this song well, and so did Chris Allen. When I hear Miley singing ‘The Climb’, and compare, this one is the better song. Why is only one a hit? Might it have something to do with the song writers? Miley is the current It Girl, while Kara was irritating to some and not a popular Idol judge. I like this song and it’s too bad Chris didn’t include it on his new album.

I kinda like the song. I generally listen to country with a little pop thrown in now and again, but the song is not bad. Maybe more people need to actually listen to the words of some of todays music-they might like it.

  • Lillian says:

Kara, i truly did not like the song when the guys sang it, but i feel you sang it from the heart and anyone who has had tragedy in thier life and made it through could relate to your version. P.S. Maybe Alarm could do it better or maybe he could be a judge since he is such a good critic.

she sucks so bad. I can’t believe you think she is better than Kris and Adam. God, she is the worst. I am surprised her head didn’t explode on this one.
