Phelps Uninjured After Car Accident

Michael-Phelps

Olympic record-holder Michael Phelps‘ 2009 is not quite as good as his 2008, the guy can’t seem to catch a break this year. First he was busted for pot, then he was stripped of endorsements, and last night the swimming champ was involved in a three-car accident in Baltimore. Phelps’ Cadillac Escalade crashed into a Honda Accord at 9pm last night. Police questioned Phelps and confirmed alcohol was not a factor. The two cars collided and hit a third car that was parked.

Though Phelps’ car was severely damaged he walked away unscathed (the man is solid muscle, nothing scathes him). The female driver of the Accord was treated for minor injuries. This isn’t Phelps first driving violation, in 2004 he was pulled over for running a stop sign and driving while impaired. [Photo: GettyImages]

I Get a bad vibe from him. His life is going downhill. Just a prediction. Yes he did win us 9 gold medals, but just because you are an INCREDIBLE swimmer. 1 of the best ever does not make you a good person. I think his intentions are good, but he gets himself wrapped up in the wrong stuff.. I hope he gets his act together, and all this negativity he brings to himself, fades away

  • Fender benders happen all day long. Every time a celebrity gets into one, it’s a huge deal! Give the guy a break!! It only seems terrible because he’s a celebrity.

  • Drew says:

Exactly what Elizabeth and Lyric said. Jessica, I don’t see how taking pot during an off season of hard training and getting into a little car jam (as everyone does) equates to his life going downhill. Phelps is still on top of the world. :D

This a good example of a person that is not worthy of fame. He is an idiot. His mother needs to sit him down and talk some sense in his butt. He is going to end up dead or very badly injured. He is young but he needs to be talked to before it is too late. Maybe he was not so popular when he was younger and now since the olympics, he had a chance with fame and don’t know what to do with it. Pitiful!

Not worthy of fame? Since when is a person who has won more gold medals than any other Olympian in history not worthy of fame? Michael Phelps has worked his rear end off and deserves every ounce of fame that comes his way. I can think of a few celebrities who–although I don’t know their life stories–have things handed down to them and haven’t necessarily proved to be worthy of fame…for instance, anyone with the last name Kardashian (with all due respect of course because I like them, just making a comparison). This seems like a minor accident, thankfully, seeing as there were only minor injuries, which just goes to show that even celebrities aren’t accident-prone. Michael seems to have a great relationship with his mother and is improving the way he handles his fame, especially since the pot scandal. There is nothing pitiful about the accident or about Phelps, seeing as it was an ACCIDENT and everybody, even a 14-time Olympic gold medalist, makes mistakes. And he’s definitely not an “idiot,” either.

Oops! I had a lot to say! Sorry about that…I just hope I didn’t say the wrong thing. I’ll leave Michael Phelps alone now.

I guarantee you people that are saying…oh, it was “just an accident”…just wait until he causes an accident where a loved one of yours is involved…you’ll have a total different perception then.
Yeah, the man is a great swimmer. But he needs to get his sh*t together asap! He keeps it up he’ll lose his millions to lawsuits. He won’t be smiling much then.

  • Technology says:

He’s lucky he wasn’t seriously injured.
