David Beckham In Fan Feud (Again)

David-Beckham

Less than a week after being fined $1000 for inappropriate interaction with a fan at an L.A. Galaxy game, David Beckham has had another tussle, this time over comments another fan made about wife Victoria Beckham. The first incident happened on July 19 when Beckham approached the stands and gestured at a fan (we imagine it was a “You wanna piece of this?” chest pound, but we really don’t know).

The fan, Joshua Paige, came out of the stands and jumped at Beckham before being tackled by security and cited for trespassing. Beckham was fined and later said, “The fans were absolutely saying certain things that shouldn’t be said to anybody. I walked over after the whistle and said, ‘You need to calm down and try to support the team.’ One of them jumped over and I thought it was to shake my hand, but maybe not.”

At this past Saturday’s game, another fan wearing an England shirt allegedly insulted Beckham’s wife, causing Beckham to exchange words yet again. While we don’t know exactly what the fan said, Beckham responded, saying, “He shouldn’t be wearing that shirt because what he was saying about my wife was a disgrace. I’ve had it all before. I’ve heard it all before. I’ve not heard that for a long time. For an Englishman to be saying that, maybe he’s not an Englishman.”

As much as we think he’s right and his family shouldn’t be disrespected, we have to take issue with his polite Englishman theory - English soccer hooligans are kind of insane. We’ve seen all your “banned from the U.S.” commercials and they totally show boobies. Your people are not as demure as you think, Becks. [Photo: GettyImages]
