Kristin Not Just “Some Girl From Reality TV”

Everyone knows Kristin Cavallari for her time spent on Laguna Beach and The Hills, but the starlet wants to be taken more seriously for her acting these days. She tells Popwrap that her return to The Hills this season was a tough decision because she really wants to focus on acting and lose the reality-show stigma. But, you know, then money and publicity made her decision for her.

“MTV’s been asking me to do it for years,” she said. “I 100% want to be an actress, but with Van Wilder: Freshman Year coming out and a few other movies, I thought this would be an exciting way for my fans to reconnect with me because they haven’t seen what I’ve been up to since Laguna Beach. I thought it would help and, after all, it’s what made me famous in the first place.”

Cavallari said that she had to fight for her role in the Van Wilder movie because the producers only thought of her as reality material. “I had to audition three times for this movie. They thought I was just some girl from reality TV, which I understand. It just makes me fight harder.”

Unfortunately for Kristin, MTV has her locked into a contract for now that won’t allow her to audition for any new roles (Phew, right? There’s only so much we think we can take), but she’s sure to grab some attention when she returns full time to The Hills in the fall. [Photo: Splash News Online]
