At one point in his life, Michael Jackson‘s staffers say the King of Pop was taking 30 to 40 Xanax pills a day to combat his sleep and anxiety disorders. Prescriptions were being doled out by five doctors and were in the names of several of Jackson’s staffers just to keep up with his habit.
This shocking information was divulged to CNN recently and even though Jackson eventually reduced his pill intake to ten pills a night by 2006, that’s a number that doctors still find alarmingly high — not to mention the toll the drug took on Jackson’s family. Janet Jackson was reportedly so concerned for her brother’s well-being that she tried to stage an intervention, but Michael ordered his security guards not to let any family into his home. Jackson even refused to take calls from his mother, Katherine for a time.
The fact that Jackson had so many prescriptions at his fingertips is cause for concern and has turned his tragic death into a criminal investigation. Only time will tell how it plays out, but it’s tragic that even his family couldn’t help him. [Photo: Getty Images]

i was blaming the family for not trying to intervene….but if the situation was that Micheals security stopped the family from helping then i put the blame of death 150% on his security….they got to carry the guilt…i dont care what anyone says, they were not looking after Micheal for sure, they MUST have known the situation…..if i was the Jackson family ide sue the &^@%$#~`^*#^*^) off the security company for neglect
thats great that the Jackson family tried to help michael but it’s really sad that he wouldn’t listen to anyone in his family and that he has left behind his three children.the Jackson family seems to be a tight knit family and i hope the children end up with Katherine instead of Debbie Rowe.because you can see the love the Jackson family has for his children.
Why do people keep wanting to find and put the blame on someone else? I love and respect Michael but he was not well, not healthy and obviously did not have the proper medical treatment, he couldn’t get it so he self medicated and this is what happens. I know , I’ve been there. We are responsible for our own health and if we don’t get the proper health we die. God Bless you Michael
You may have all the good intentions of a Mother Theresa but if the person you are trying to help dosen’t want help there is nothing you can do for them but pray. Michael was a grown man and you can’t tell help what to do. Security had to do what he told them or get fired. Believe you me, Debbie Rowe will not get her hands on those children. I wish she would go back into hidding.

Thank you Renee and Ranell. I am tired of people blaming others 4 things. We r held accountable 4 our own responsibilities and lives. Michael’s death is, sadly, what it is. Maybe he wanted 2 b n a diff world? We don’t know what he may have been goin thru and its sad how his family and friends tried reaching out 2 him to no avail. I don’t c how all of these doctors didnt know what was goin on…people do strange things 4 money and attention I guess. I pray that Michaels soul is able to rest and his family as well from all of the drama.

Sorry, have to finish what i was saying in regards to the DOCTORS. How dare they give him prescriptions constantly, and in his staffers names to keep up with his habit…. what the hell is the matter with them? Instead they should have just intervened and put him in rehab,,, like the other actors/singers, whatever when they have a problem,,, it only takes 3 people to have them committed,,, whether it be for rehab or what not… Any way, it doesn’t matter anymore,,, because now he is dead,,,,, and it seems as though he is more popular now… let us just leave the family and children to mourn in peace, and let Michael RIP,,,,,,, god bless them all in their hour of need.
First of all let me say my thoughts and prayers go out to the whole Jackson family. No matter of problems in the past, you need each other and his kids needs everybody. I am happy to hear about the help people try to get him in the past….but until he was ready to get clean, I don’t think it would have worked. But we will never know. I think Janet was right when she said the rest of us lost an icon, they lost a family member. Your life will never be the same, that is when the family steps in. Keep the memories alive with stories and pictures. The hardest part is when something happens and you think about calling him….then you realize you can’t. But in some strange way, he already knows what happened. You will find yourself crying over something really silly just because it would have made him laugh. We lost my brother in law last year and we talk about all the things he used to do all the time. It helps my sons since they were the closest to him. You will think of him everyday. Michael was not here on earth for a long time, but he will live on thru his family, his beautiful children and his music. Life will never be the same again, but we have our memories!! May he rest in peace. I hope you get the answers you are searching for.

Well what I don’t understand about michael not wanting to speak to the family is that if they happened to be that close as they make it seem then why didn’t michael let them help?I don’t think that he would do anything to hurt himself cause he new that he had too much live for…an if he did take all these drugs that they are saying he did then it’s prolly away to escape from reality …you imagine what kinda life it would be to. Anyone whose taken perscription narcotics knows that the bodys tolerance level goes higher and higher as the use continues.
So Im not suprised that by the time of his death he had reached the level of injecting demerol into his veins.This is all hearsay but the fact that he was said to have had track marks on his neck says that he had exausted all of his other veins,and had been doing so for a very long time.
I will miss his music and talent ,I wish he had never been suggested this method of self medicating.He died because of it and tht makes me angry.

Michael was a beautiful soul. We lost him the same day as Farrah Fawcett. Farrah fought so hard to live, while Michael was fighting his losing battle with pills that so many hangers on were supplying him with. We lost two beautiful souls on the same day. At least Janet tried to help him. She can take comfort in that fact. I was a casual fan of Michael, I have some of his music and I appreciated his talent as I grew up with both him and Farrah in my life. I just couldn’t help being sad on the day they both passed on. Maybe something good can come out of this sad situation. We will miss Michael and Farrah
