Ryan Gosling Drops An Album

Ryan Gosling’s name has popped up in music lyrics (”Lazy Sunday,” anyone?) but we never really saw him as a rock star in his own right. That may change though, now that Gosling and his friend Zach Shields have been signed to Anti- Records.
The duo, who met when Gosling was dating Rachel McAdams and Shields was dating her sister Kayleen, will release an album under the name Dead Man’s Bones, and even notoriously aloof critics at Pitchfork Media love it. While the group’s MySpace page describes the music as “Gothic/Gospel/Showtunes,” Pitchfork likens them to the Arcade Fire. The duo’s self-titled album comes out in October. Not bad for that hot guy from The Notebook. [Photo: GettyImages]

Why the heck not? He used to sing on MMC, and even though he wasn’t very good at least he has some talent.
