A judge has rejected a request from Michael Jackson‘s mother, Katherine, for control of Jackson’s estate. The estate is worth approximately $500 million and will remain in the hands of Jackson’s longtime attorney John Branca and music executive John McClain. The two were named in Jackson’s will from 2002 as administrators of the estate. Mrs. Jackson had applied to oversee the estate before the will was found. This isn’t end end of the story though – the executorship will expire in August and another hearing to determine control will be held.
One of Mrs. Jacksons attorneys, John E. Schreiber, has reservations about non-family members controlling the assets, saying “Frankly, Mrs. Jackson has concerns about handing over the keys to the kingdom.” He’s speaking figuratively of course. The actual key to the Jackson kingdom hung from Janet‘s ear in the 1980s.
Ironically, if the will is actually valid, this issue will be difficult for Katherine Jackson to contest because it also gives her, and not Debbie Rowe, custody of Jackson’s children and would preclude her from wanting to challenge it. [Photo: Getty Images]

Michael Jackson displayed wonderful entertainment where ever he went. He inspired other artists to be them selves and also inspired future artists as well. Michael taught us that life is not worth risking and to “live your life”.
My heart goes out to M J’s children. I was sadden for M J’s daughter when she spoke today.

Michael gave a small town ND, blue-eyed, blonde girl hopes and dreams for a colorful tomorrow. Having just turned 50, I always thought HE’D BE THERE. I’ll live the rest of my life better because of him.
Every New Years Eve, my family would gather to celebrate the new year. As a part of that tradition, we would watch one of Michael’s tours on video. I remember my cousins and I dancing and singing to his music the same time every year. It became something we looked forward to. I grew up with his music and it is truly devastating that he is gone.
I LUV MJ, HE IS STILL ALIVE IN MY HEART, I JUST CAN’T SEE HIM OTHERWISE BECAUSE HE HAD SO MUCH POWER AND ENERGY IT SEEMS IMPOSSIBLE NOT TO CARRY ON,BUT THE FIRST SET OF CONCERT TICKETS I BOUGHT WAS IN 1974, TO SEE THE JACKSON 5 AT MADISON SQUARE GARDEN, IT WAS A GRADUATION PRESENT FOR MY SISTER. i grew up with michael ( the jackson 5) and i seen his memorial on live tv and it was so touching, he really deserved the farewell he got. i love you michael and will miss you so much. rip michael jackson you have angels flying with you now my heart goes out to all the family.we will miss michael too love darlene .

I grew up watching Michael, a friend and I used to do the thriller dance on the yard in High School. I saw Michael in concert when he came to New Orleans in 1975. I feel like Im part of the Jackson family. My condolence go out to the Jackson Family .The memorial was very emotional to me and I would like to know how can I get a copy of the memorial.

Gone Too Soon! MJ was a the greatest entertainer of all time and he will truly be missed. The memorial to MJ was fantastic – Michael touched so many of us and today was a day of celebration a celebration of his wonderful life. Thank you MJ!

it is truly a sad moment in history. i loved to dance to all his music, i can remember going out and seeing guys with their “michael jackson” glove and jacket (back in the 80′s). i have a 13 year old son and he is practicing the “MOONWALK” on my kitchen floor now!.

For Michael’s children: I lost my father not to long ago and even though I was much older then each of you are now, it’s still painful. Just know, he is watching you from heaven and still wants the best for you. He does, did and will always love each of you very much. Although your dad was a GREAT man and that he’s touched the lives of millions. Its the three of you he loved the most!!!! Children are blessings and that is what he saw in each of you, being blessed three times over!
I agree with Lisa Marie’s comments: which should also say the the media: Michael suffered through all the tabloids crap and now its time for the healing to begin, leave his family alone and move on. Anyone who now steps into the picture now just wants there 15 minutes of fame, believe me it does more harm than good.
Michael has given us the gift of his music and by all the things he has accomplished in his life, has also asked each of us to step up and to do something about saving the people of this world and along with the planet. Lets focus on what is really important. Families, Helping one another and caring about those less fortunate.
If I had three wishes they would be:
1.To mend the pain and suffering of people everywhere in the world regardless of race, religion and sex,
2. To save the planet by heal all the lands that are barren due to man killing trees, animals and people, also polluting water and air supplies,
3.And to be able help people with big dreams to be able to share with the world. I believe Michael’s dreams were just that. Lets continue where he left off…..
