I grew up listening and dancing to the music of the Jackson 5. I feel Michael has been a part of my life for almost forty years. I feel I have lost a part of my family. I will believe the angels needed him to lead them in song. Thank you for your music and the barriers you helped break down.

Michael touched my heart all through my childhood years and on into my adult years. There is not a day that goes by that I do not feel his love even in death he is still touching my heart. I cry for him not only out of pain from missing him but also for joy. I know that even though Michael was famous he was just as simple as I was, he only wanted to be loved. Well, I say here you go Michael we are all showing you just how much we love you and even though it should have came in your life we are all just human just as you are. I love you MIchael and I will miss you more than you will ever know. You got me through times that I did not think I could make it another day in my childhood.RIP Sweet Angel!!!!!

Michael’s legacy had such an effect on so many people. I live in Gary, IN and I went to the store last Wednesday and there was a man with a white glove and fedora hat moonwalking in the frozen foods department, it was sad because it brought back memories of watching Michael perform that same walk throughout the years, but it just shows how great of a performer and musician he was to have someone do one of his moves in a grocery store. lol. More recently, I went to a 4th of July festival, and I overheard a 4 year old child telling his father that Michael Jackson probably had some of the same rides at his home that were at the festival. That just shows that Michael left his mark across all age groups, races, etc. R.I.P. Michael Jackson. You will never be forgotten.

  • Nikita says:

For me growing up without a father and watching him on tv, that’s what I put in my mind a father or just men in general should be like. Giving, loving, caring and watchful. It breaks my heart that my future children will not have the sensation of seeing this wonderful man live doing one of the things he does best…..perform.Oh but you better believe they will know Michael’s humbleness and humility through his lyrics, songs, deeds and biography. He was one of the reasons I listen to the radio( waiting to see if he had a new song) and now he’s gone, if “the artist formly known as..Prince” passes away I’m done with radio. No songs today are made with a fire, passion, or yearning that those two men brought forth. I wish Michael’s children and family the very best.

    Peace&Love

I grew up listening to MJ. I am his age now. I can’t believe he’s gone. The world ate him up. I think Mother Theresa of Calcutta summed up his life when she says:

    A Note On The Wall

People are unreasonable, illogical and self centered…forgive them anyway.

If you are kind, people may accuse you of selfish, ulterior motives…be kind anyway.

If you are successful, you will win some false friends, and some true enemies…be successful anyway.

What you spend years building, someone could destroy overnight…build anyway.

If you find serenity and happiness, others may be jealous….be happy anyway.

The good you do today, people will often forget tomorrow…do good anyway.

Give The World The Best You Have, And It May Never Be Enough….Give The World Your Best Anyway.

I believe Michael gave his best, under the circumstances. I also believe, as a practicing Catholic that we should pray for the repose of his soul. I further believe what Jesus says in The Bible….”There are many rooms in my Fathers House, if it were not so, I would not say it”. The point is this, we are all God’s Children. We all deserve to be loved, respected, and cherished for the creation that God made, honored for our gifts . Rest in peace Michael. You are finally free to walk without being hunted, free to love without judgment. Peace be with you, and God forgive us, we know not what we have done.

Even though he was treated as an immortal figure, Paris reminded us today that he was just a mere mortal like the rest of us, but his legacy will remain immortal. Out thoughts and prayers are with him and his family in this their time of need. Peace and Love.

  • Lucy Aponte says:

I remember back when my daughter auditioned to the High School of Performing Arts to Michael’s Off the Wall and how she had practiced to the music. Michael’s music played in my house, all the time, when I was raising my children. When my son, Daniel was terminally ill, his wish through the Make A Wish Foundation was to meet Michael, but he was too medically fragile to fly and never got to meet his idol. Daniel is OK today and has been sad over the death of Michael, whom he idolized so. The memorial was so touching and I have done nothing but cry throughout. It was so eery to here his songs playing, his brother sing and yet, not hear Michael’s voice on stage. A genius like him comes once in a life time. I will miss him

  • Douglas Toledo says:

My dearest sympathy goes to the jackson family, when i was 3 yrs old i listen to beat it and thriller and i would dance my heart out everytime those songs played, to my parents those dance moves were the dearest of them all since i was such a small child and Michael Jackson would put me to dance with his moves and sounds. Michael Jackson made many things possible in this world and me being a hispanic in this country i have to thank him for fitting for equality and brotherhood, if you focus in the good, he was a man that selfishness was not in his vocabulary, he gave and gave. I will remember Michael Jackson for the rest of my life as the King of pop and the Humanitarian person he was.

No other entertainer had such an influence over a goofy little 70′s kid in her patched-up Toughskins Jeans and afro-puffs than Michael Jackson. I fell in love with him in 1974 and for 30+ years studied his every move, pop, lock, snap, and hand clap! I will FOREVER admire his creativity and greatness!

  • donna tilton says:

Without stars like Michael, people would lose their way in the dark. He was a shining light in the midst of darkness. My favorite song was In the Closet, and Scream.

  • Will says:

In loving memory of The King of Pop…When you were good, when you were Bad, you were always a Thriller when we got to Rock With You and I will always remember The Way You Make Me Feel. We will Remember the Time when you took over our TVs to give us the chance to Jam with you singing about Billie Jean and Dirty Diana. You may have been a Smooth Criminal, but we hoped that you would always follow your own advice and Dont Stop Til You Get Enough and we certainly never expected you to Beat It so soon. Your legacy is complicated, but we can only hope that you are remembered for your desire to Heal the World and how you transcended race, class, language, and borders to prove to the world that it truly doesnt matter if you’re Black or White. Now that you are finally standing with the Man in the Mirror please remember that You Are Not Alone and even though sometimes you felt like They Dont Really Care About Us and it made you want to Scream, and even though you werent Invincible, you will always be Unbreakable to your fans around the world. RIP M.J. and may you find the peace in death that you never found in life.

  • Marsha says:

I grew up watching and listening to Michael Jackson and loving everything about him. I am sad for the people who will never get the chance to know how truly wonderful and talented he really was. We have lost an amazing entertainer and person in MJ and I am deeply saddened … rest in peace King of Pop!

  • Sally says:

I was lucky enough to be taken backstage at the Los Angeles Victory Tour venue. I was shown Michael’s costumes for the show, including “the glove”. I literally could not catch my breath I was so in awe of the beauty of the costumes. I will always treasure my brief time with such beauty. Michael will always be in our hearts.

  • D. Garcia says:

Michael Jackson will continue to live in our hearts no matter how much time passes by. I plan to keep his memory alive by not only sharing with my children his legendary music but also how he contributed in making the world a better place to live in. Thank you Michael.

I can’t stop crying thinking about Michael. I loved his music and the way he danced. I remember sitting in the living room when I was little and when one of Michael’s music vides would come on I’d get up and start dancing. His music had that affect on you!! I WILL ALWAYS LOVE YOU MIKE AND WILL CHERISH ALL OF YOUR MASTERPIECES. A part of my childhood is now gone.

Watching the memorial again makes it harder and harder to find peace with Michael’s death . Everyone must pass , and the impacts vary . The world will never heal from this loss . How could we ??

  • Ronnette says:

I’m only 15 yrs. old..and this man that we call the king of pop, is so very inspirational to me, Michael makes me feel like he understands how im feeling, or what im going through, and that is so special in an artist to do for his fans. I thank him so much for being an inspiration for me and for many other people. May your soul live until the world ends. You will be greatly missed.

  • Kathy says:

I have memories of Michael Jackson dating back to the early 80s when I was only a toddler. I used to put on a blue jean jacket that I had, with 1 winter glove (the closest outfit I could find!), and sing and dance in my living room to the Thriller album, specifically to the song Beat It. I grew up listening to and loving his music and talent and will truly miss him. R.I.P. MJ, I hope you finally find the peace you deserve.

  • Amber says:

Michael’s life touched mine growing up. As a little girl about 4 I had a sticker of him on my tricycle, and I called him Midol Jackson. He will sure be missed.

  • Shelly says:

When I was sixteen I worked at my Aunt’s skating rink. The Thriller album was going strong at that time. I’m surprised that we didn’t wear it out completely! Whenever a Michael Jackson song was played the rink floor was always packed. His music was legendary and he was such a versatile artist. He will truly be missed in the music world. Your music will stay alive though you are gone. Rest in peace sweet Michael.

  • Cindy says:

It’s hard for me to believe that the man with such incrediable talent and so much passion is no longer with us. If we all had the passion for our lives that Michael Jackson had for his music, our lives would be so much richer.

So long, Michael. You will live on in our hearts.

  • court says:

i am sad that we have lost one of the GREATEST pop artist of our time. as a child when i would cry or if i was upset my mama would play Billie Jean to calm me down and make me feel better. His record was the first record I ever learned how to play and it will continue to be played until the end of time.

    Michael:

You gave us all “Heal the World” – A song I sang along side my elementary school brothers and sisters on a sunny afternoon so many years ago – We all learned how to love that very moment.

For that, I love you – You will be missed.

  • Stella says:

Today was a day I did not realize I had so many tears for young Michael. He has been through so much and now he has peace. Young and old people live your lives like Michael, be true to yourselves. Don’t worry about what people say about you just keep on pushing and make them eat their words. The overflowing love given these past days has been wonderful. I just wish all this love was given to Michael through the hard times. If he had received this love his heart wouldn’t have been so heavy. When you believe in someone you believe in them not just when things are going good but when thing are not good. The man that makes the final decision has Michael now and he will receive what love is due to him. Love you Michael, you will be missed by all.

I remember the night of the motown 25th anniversary…Michael stepped on the stage and we were screaming in our living room. When he moonwalked across that stage we were silent for a moment. Then all of us kids were trying to do it like Michael 5 minutes after he left the stage. He changed alot of things in that moment. Our love and thoughts are with the world and his family.

I remember when “Free Willie” came out on VHS. I don’t remember much about the movie but I do remember rewinding the end of the tape over and over again so that I could listen to MJs song. I was just a kid but I remember the song making me feel so emotional. That was his gift, being so heart felt in his performance. He could always make you FEEL so much.

  • Tracey says:

It broke my heart to hear of Michael Jackson’s death. I grew up listening to Michael at a young age and he will be missed. I know that his music lives on and may he rest in peace.

  • N. Larry Blackmon says:

I had the pleasure of meeting the King first while he worked on music with my father. My last time being with him was at the funeral of James Brown. He was distraught to see the passing of his idol. Well, today, I feel the same. I have lost a person I have held close to my heart since I can recall. I am inspired to be the absolute best I can be. Thank God for Michael Jackson. The man, the music, the spirit, THE LEGEND! Forever be in peace, MJ. I love you!

  • Jill says:

I remember listening to the Jackson 5 when I was four years old. We used to watch the Saturday morning cartoon program that they did. I begged my parents to buy ABC’s cereal because they were on the box. I have enjoyed listening to his music throughout my life. I truly hope that he is allowed to have peace, the peace that he was never given during his life. It has been painful to see someone who cared so much have to suffer so much. Thank you Michael for sharing your gift of music with the rest of the world. Be at peace and at rest.

GOD BLESS RIP

  • Sue says:

Donny Osmond, David Cassidy and The Partridge Family and The Jackson 5 were the hottest things going in the 70′s. They brought us joy, happiness and lasting memories. I am Michaels age and am devastated that he is gone so soon. Although he had problems, if you looked with your heart, you would always see the boy who so enjoyed making others happy. ” We cannot all do great things, but we can all do small things with Great love:” (Mother Theresa) Michael practiced that to the highest degree. The media never understood him. So sad, so tragic.

  • MICH says:

Michael Jackson was not only an incredible dancer, singer and performer…he was a great man, a true leader who followed his heart and maintained happiness making a difference in the world be it through his music or dancing, to even the moments where you could truly see the man, like the father who today his children miss because they can not being to comprehend that the man who was their everything for so long is no longer here. May it be a day to celebrate the life of a man who not only changed history through his lyrics and moves, but showed us that living and making a difference is up to each of us, may we work as one and find peace!!

  • kim says:

the memorial was heartbreaking and awesome all in one. It was spectular, thank you to all who made it happen. Thank you for showing it in the evening as well. I shed so many tears for him. I can’t believe that he is gone. No more new dance moves, no more new songs, no more smiles, no more creative videos, but we are blessed with what we do have, indeed. I loved Michael for over 35 years, his wonderful, wonderful talent and sweet, kind soul. He will live in us forever, and he will be forever young as well. My sympathies to his family. Thank you for the memorial. I’m sure he loved it all.

There is now an angel in heaven watching over all our children that went home too soon. There is no doubt in my mind that Michael has gathered all these children on a special cloud and is smiling, laughing, dancing and singing at this very moment! You will be missed more than you can ever know. This world has lost the most caring, giving and loving person ever created.
