GLAAD, Celebs Weigh In On Perez Hilton Fight

Celebrities are speaking out about the fight tweeted around the world, and no one seems to be sympathizing with Perez Hilton. Kelly Clarkson commented on the blogger’s beef with musician Will.I.Am in the video above, saying, “What did you expect? You can’t say that much crap about people without being able to take something.”

Tila Tequila spoke out on her Twitter in defense of her friend Will, while John Mayer and Perez got in a heated, tweeted fight over the drama. Kirstie Alley called Will her “new hero,” while Transformers star Josh Duhamel told Entertainment Tonight, “When you get rich saying hateful things, sometimes you ask for it. It’s an unfortunate incident and I hope it goes away.” The actor is married to Fergie, who is apparently at the heart of this battle.

GLAAD - the Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation - has formally asked Perez Hilton to apologize for dropping slurs in his fight with Will.I.Am Sunday night. The organization released a statement that says:

“We have reached out to Hilton and asked him to apologize for promoting this anti-gay slur, and we would ask media outlets to avoid repetition of the slur in their coverage of this story. For someone in our own community to use it to attack another person by saying that it is, quote, ‘The worst possible thing that thug would ever want to hear,’ is incredibly dangerous. It legitimizes use of a slur that is often linked to violence against our community. And it sends a message that it is OK to attempt to dehumanize people by exploiting anti-gay attitudes.”

Perez is not having it, natch, nor is he apologizing to anyone - ever. His response:

“I am saddened GLAAD chose to victimize me further by criticizing me for how I non-violently dealt with a very scary situation that, unfortunately, turned violent. While I doubt I will get an apology from GLAAD, nor do I expect one, I would just hope people know how difficult it is to intellectualize a situation and think rationally when a thug disguised as a musician is screaming at your face and intimidating you. I am just very fortunate and grateful that nothing more serious happened to me.”

I am so, so thrilled that the world is finally turning on Perez. He is so incredibly hateful, and I’m glad he’s finally getting to see what it’s like to be on the other side.

Perez you deserved what you got, actually you deserved more.

This really is the best thing that’s happened all year. I hope people continue to hate on him and show him that he really is a slimeball. I love it so much that GLAAD turned on him. There has to be less than 50 people in the world that are taking his side. I hope this puts him in his place.

  7. Jeri Says:

Perez trashes celebs that sdo not kiss his butt. He thinks he is a celeb but if he continues to trash celebs, then go to the same events they do, of course someone is gonna kick his a**.

Maybe he should choose “is he a STAR (in his own mind)” or a celeb GOSSIP BLOGGER that malicously __!)&!)%_^(&(`^ aults people on his blog, then thinks he’ll be welcome hanging with them.
