If you weren’t tuned in to the MTV Movie Awards tonight you missed a real treat - and no, we’re not talking about Robert Pattinson. Bruno - the latest character performed by Borat star Sacha Baron Cohen - came down from the ceiling decked out in some white feathery number to deliver the Best Male Performance award. Instead, he awkwardly landed his ass on top of Eminem’s face, which caused the rapper to have a curse-filled hissy fit before storming out of the show with his crew, who also threw a few punches in Bruno’s direction.
The drama is trending high on Twitter and Google Trends, with everyone asking: was the altercation a brilliantly staged bit between Em and Sasha, or did the rapper really freak out? Ryan Seacrest is insisting via Twitter that it was absolutely real. “If u saw the fight at mtv movie awards betwen eminem and “bruno” I am told it was real and em’s crew left the show,” he writes. The guys over at Gawker, however, think the whole thing was staged.
Real or fake, it kicked ass - and completely threw Best Male Performance winner Zac Efron for a loop. Watch the clip above and let us know what you think - real or fake?

It was staged. There was plenty of time in which Bruno was falling with Eminem watching that he could have dodged; the landing was too perfect.

at 1st i thought it was (fartman) howard stern….then i see his butt land on Eminem…it was only staged by mtv’s side they been messing with him for awhile now (moby and rubber dog incedent)

This was absolutely staged. anyone who has ever worked in television knows this. The scene was blocked with cameras. Step by step they followed the event including eminem’s “walk-out”. There is no way they would have shot his leaving the building as perfectly as they did, unless the producers knew where he was going!

As someone who does work in television, I can tell you that there would have been plenty of cameras there, wirelessly connected to the main transmission, and far from being a perfectly shot exit, it was obviously a rear of house camera hurriedly being used to catch Eminem’s departure. I think it was 100 percent real, his foolish reaction, proving he can dish it out but can’t take it.
Very funny though, rappers who take themselves too seriously are just lame.

I think MTV and Sasha were, of course in on it. Why would Eminem agree to have a man’s butt and everything else, in his face for millions of people to see? I highly doubt it! I think that Emimnem was pushed a little to far. He is a newly recovering addict and I think it was uncalled for and disgusting. Yes, Eminem talks a lot of crap about celebrities, but they are songs. Big deal!! This was humiliating for any man. Not to mention unsanitary!!! Sasha’s lucky he didnt get beaten to a pulp!

I recall when MTV & VH1 was all about showcasing the bands and performer’s musical talents on music video format…MTV has totally lost their vision of promoting performers and bands!

I think Bruno planned it but Em was not in on it, his reaction was to real and was not happy at all, but in due time he will give a interview/statement and the truth will come out.

It was obviously staged. Em had a perfect chance to escape and he didn’t. Also, if you notice when Bruno was on him, there were microphones attached to his `_*$)*#^)(_~)~+ so you could hear Eminem’s reaction. Em could also sue MTV for tons of money. But I must say, it was the best act of the night.
