Singer Kelis has filed for divorce from her rapper husband Nas, although she’s due to give birth to the couple’s son in just a couple months. The pair had been dating since 2002 and got married in 2005, and have collaborated on a number of tracks together. Citing irreconcilable differences in the divorce petition, Kelis’s rep asks that the “media respect her privacy during this very difficult time.”
The split has come as quite a surprise, as Nas only a few weeks ago was talking happily with MTV News about the impending baby. “She’s great, man. She’s doing good. [We are deciding between] a few baby names. It’s kinda hard. I’ve been thinking about kinda putting something online: ‘Choose his name,’” he said. [Photo: WENN]

I think they should stay together because it would be good for the baby. And you wouldn’t want the baby to be like why you and daddy not together or why you and mommy aer not together. It would be hard for you to explain to the child.And you wouldn’t want that to happen or you wouldn’t want the child to be the only one at school who’s parents are not together.
