Tuesday, April 21st, 2009 Rihanna Makeover: Fab Or Fail? Rihanna was just a sweet girl with dreams of a music career, when a record producer vacationing in Barbados discovered the songbird and plucked her from the tiny island, relocating her to NYC to record an album. Jay-Z signed her immediately, and thus began RiRi’s career on the red carpet, offering up her good girl looks and easy pop tunes for the entire world to feast upon. A simple haircut — taking her long locks into a seriously angled bob — seemed to change everything for Rihanna. She started sporting edgy designer looks and her onstage outfits and antics began to get wild. She continued chopping her hair into the short, severe, and super hot look she rocks today. Though she’s currently embracing a curly look, Rihanna continues to embrace her wild side with every outfit, proving that fashion – just like life – can be an adventure. Rihanna looks soooo much better. The short hair looks more NATURAL than the long hair , which was WEAVE. Ugh , silly people falling prey to European standards of beauty. YOU DON’T NEED LONG HAIR TO BE BEAUTIFUL. And for the little girl [ i know you have to be young for your bold yet STUPID statement ] why would anyone deserve to be a victim of battery? Rihanna’s make-over was FAB! I just loved her a-symetrical bobb, a new re-creation of the “one-sided” Sassoon cut so popular in late 1960′s & early ’70s. Last yr. I took her picture w/me to ea. haircutting apt.; trying to find a hairdresser who could duplicate it. Sadly, for me, none of the stylists I saw came close to “getting” it.
Her haircut for the last yr. has been a very cute, “artichocke” type cut. Cut like a cap, softly layered, w/height on top. This short “baby doll” look is in no way short, severe or butch. It is very femme & shows her beautiful features to max benefit. She reminds me of Lena Horn in this cut.
Rihanna’s makeup is just as awesome as her hair! She knows how to use white high-lighting shadows on her eyes & cheek bones. Either she and/or her make-up artist make good use of contouring type colors. She knows how to use smokey eye shadows w/out those colors resulting in a tired, bruised mess.
Rihanna is a beautiful talented singer and I look forward to seeing her mature and come out w/many new looks.

She has changed too much within her career. If you were to ask me she look better before or now I would say before. Her new video Rockstar 101 WTF was she thinking dancing in a circle with devil horns kinda creepy. Shes just weird now.
