LeAnn Rimes Makeover: Fab Or Fail?

LeAnn Rimes began her rise to fame as a pudgy “Star Search” contestant with big hair and big dreams. At the tender age of 13, LeAnn belted out hits like “Blue,” which put her on the map as one of country’s hottest stars and evoked memories of Patsy Cline. While wearing too much makeup and outfits worthy of worst-dressed lists, LeAnn quickly climbed the country charts and became an international star, but LeAnn admitted having issues with overeating. “I turned to food at times because I had nowhere else to get that love,” she said. LeAnn not only covered her weight with awkward outfits, but also dealt with the embarrassing skin condition eczema, which left her skin red and scabby. “In the summertime, it would be on my neck and arms and I’d wear turtlenecks to try to cover it up,” she said.

At 19 years old LeAnn married backup dancer Dean Sheremet and quickly began growing up into a slender, sexy superstar. Reportedly it was her new hubby who encouraged her to get into a workout and diet plan that included low fat foods and yoga. “It’s fun to exercise with a partner — we both push each other to be better,” she said.

In 2007, LeAnn appeared in Shape magazine and the former awkward kid worked the cover wearing a red, white, and blue bikini. She began gracing the red carpet in elegant designer gowns and threw away her cheesy denim getups that the old LeAnn would wear. Her full makeover from shy naïve wannabe singer to full-fledged slender vixen was complete when in 2009, LeAnn was rumored to be having an affair with her Lifetime movie Northern Lights co-star Eddie Cibrian, who was also married at the time.
