Kathy Griffin Makeover: Fab Or Fail?

Working with statuesque Brooke Shields every day would surely make anyone feel that their physical appearance had room for improvement, to say the least. Kathy Griffin starred opposite Brooke in the 90s hit comedy Suddenly Susan as her co-worker Vicky, who constantly complained that Brooke’s character could get anything simply because of her stunning looks. Perhaps Kathy believed her character’s M.O.: she underwent a laundry list of plastic surgery procedures to drastically change nearly every part of her body.

“I had lipo from my waist down — my stomach, thighs and the inside of my knees. The idea was to look like Jennifer Aniston. It didn’t work out at all. When I woke up I was not able to pee. I got toxicity and had to go to the emergency room and wear a catheter for a week. It was life-threatening, and the results were nonexistent,” she told Redbook of her first horrifying liposuction experience. The drama didn’t stop Kathy, however. She continued on her plastic surgery parade: changing her arms, legs, teeth, hair, lips, and nose, and emerging as the sleek star of her own hit reality show, Life On the D List.
