Despite the world’s purely ironic excitement for the pair’s upcoming CSI appearance, she’s scored a role on the upcoming remake of Melrose Place. According to Entertainment Weekly, Simpson will play “small-town girl Violet, a character whose disarming naiveté masks the calculating, shrewd sex kitten within.” She might not have been our first choice, but television needs all the calculating, shrewd sex kittens it can get.
