Megan Hauserman accused Sharon Osbourne of battery, negligence and intentional infliction of emotional distress in a lawsuit filed in LA yesterday. The charges stem from their tussle at the Rock Of Love Charm School reunion episode last December. Megan may win on battery, because there was physical contact, but she would have to prove damages in order to win any money. What were her monetary damages? The cost of a new weave? Negligence–she probably won’t win on this claim, because Megan’s offensive comment provoked Sharon. If Megan wanted to avoid injury, she should have chosen her words more carefully. And again, she must prove damages in order to win on a negligence claim. Intentional infliction of emotional distress–to win on this claim, Megan must prove that Sharon’s behavior was extremely outrageous or reckless and cannot be tolerated in a civilized society. Because cameras were rolling, and violence on reality shows has become the norm, she may not be able to prove this claim either. And again, all she might win is the cost of a new weave. Sharon’s attorney should file an early motion for summary judgment, and agree that Sharon will buy a new weave for Megan.

You would think that Vh1 could intervene and deny Megan her show if she failed to drop the charges against Sharon. I mean after all, Sharon was probably one of the few well-known celebrities willing to do season 2 of Charm School. I guess they just want to let the drama play out though so they have something to blog about. :-\
And btw, I can’t wait to see the ratings on Megan’s new show. She’s interesting to watch as a contestant, I’ll give her that. As the central focus of the show? Not so much.

She will not get anything out of it. When a person signs of for these reality shows they sign a contract that states that they will not sue the company making the reality show or anyone on the show. If I were a member of vh1′s legal team I would basically inform her that if she doesn’t drop the lawsuit all plans for her own show will be scrapped. If you watch the footage the fight was staged. If you watch fights on on any other reality shows security is not that quick to step in they knew Sharon was going to throw her drink in the girls face, also if you watch the footage Sharon never threw a punch she threw the drink backed away and security removed Megan from stage. No punches were ever thrown.
