After Jason Mesnick switched fiancees in mid-stream on last night’s Bachelor finale, proposing to Melissa Rycroft only to drop her for runner-up Molly Malaney by the following reunion special, it was great to see Jimmy Kimmel making jokes at Mr. Indecisive’s expense. Mesnick still swears he was madly in love with two women at the same time.
First of all, it was my real life, and people can question that or doubt that, but they’re real feelings, and on that last day I was falling in love with two girls. In real life…I wouldn’t have stopped dating any of the last three girls, they were all great girls.
But in real life, he wouldn’t have had the opportunity to date all three at the same time. It’s a catch-22 that leaves poor, dumb-as-a-post Jason in the crossfire, looking like a jerk for picking the wrong woman to propose to, when this could have happened to anyone.

Despite some needling about whether Mesnick still has the numbers for the other cast members (“cuz you never know, you gotta leave things open, it’s real life, right?”), this year’s Bachelor swears he’s sticking with Molly, though they’re “taking it at their own pace.” “If you do propose to her, do it on television,” said Kimmel. “Cuz you’re making a habit out of it.”
Jason also suggested he didn’t really break up with Melissa on air. “She knew, before we walked out, we were not together…she knew exactly what was going on.”
“I think [Melissa] and I at some point will be friends again,” he said. “Oh no, you will not!” laughed Kimmel. “You and Melissa and Israel and Iraq…” Another prediction from Kimmel: “you’re gonna get slapped a lot, probably.”
