Nicole Kidman Is Not Vain At All

Now, we quite like Nicole Kidman. Despite annoying us on a nightly basis with that “I’m a DANCER! I LOVE to DANCE!” Chanel advertisement on TV, we admire anyone who has stepped forward from the Cruise-controlled shadows to make it as an Oscar-winning A-lister. And her daughter looks very cute indeed. But now super-smooth-skinned Nicole has tried to convince us that nope, she is in no way in thrall to Hollywood’s obsession with looking youthful, and in actual fact, she doesn’t care what she looks like. Hmm.

“I’m not enamored with youth. There isn’t wisdom in youth. I’m not particularly vain, I get ready in five minutes,” she tells UK paper Metro.

OK, whatever you say, Nic. But just for posterity, we’ve unearthed a very old pic from 1989, and one from last night’s British premiere of Australia. Now, you don’t get to look THAT FRICKIN GOOD after nearly 20 more years difference without paying a little bit of attention to your appearance, no? And we’d be pretty confident in saying those curls would take a little more than five minutes taming on their own. We think you look lovely, Nicole – but wouldn’t it be nice for once if stars admitted how much work it is to look that good? (Otherwise it makes us normal folk look bad.) [Photos: WireImage, Getty]
