It’s possible that the Radio 2 “Sachsgate” phone prank scandal was the best thing to happen to Russell Brand’s career as he’s rumored to be close to signing a deal to appear in Pirates of the Caribbean 4. Johnny Depp‘s doppelganger could play his onscreen brother Captain Jonathan Sparrow, and frankly, we think it’s a no-brainer.
“There couldn’t be a role more perfectly suited. There’s a lot of Jack Sparrow in his mannerisms and behaviour. Depp’s accent isn’t a million miles away from Russell’s either,” reports The Sun
We’ve got a soft spot for Russell (must be one of the only people he hasn’t yet slept with so surely it’s just a matter of time!) despite the media storm, and we hope it turns out to be true. Hey, he’ll easily replace Keira Knightley as our preferred eye candy. [Photo: Splash News Online]

They totally wasted the opportunity for greatness when did nothing with Keith Richards in the last movie. Let’s hope they don’t do the same with RUssell. He’s got talent to spare…I hope they let him use it.
