EXCLUSIVE: Usher Living The Single Life?

Amid reports that Usher and wife Tameka Foster have been living separate lives, the singer has been hitting the club scene like his single days. A source tells Scandalist that Usher was partying it up at New York hotspot Marquee last night, and smiling from ear to ear. The singer was “drinking, laughing and chatting up the ladies,” says our source.

“Usher was running around the club talking to people and seemed so excited to be there. He almost tripped a couple times.” Indeed, Usher’s night out comes on the heels of rumors that the singer wants out of his 14-month marriage, and that he is waiting until after his and Tameka’s second baby is born to split. The “Love In This Club” singer is allegedly frustrated over several recent tiffs with his wife, including a night out for his birthday at Mansion nightclub in Miami, where Tameka arrived over an hour late and the couple stayed far, far away from each other. Sources report that Usher became angry when he heard the recent rumor that he was having an extramarital affair with an R&B singer, and believed it to be his wife who actually started the rumor to make Usher look bad.

Indeed, the couple has had a rocky road from the start, surrounded by rumors that Tameka and Usher’s mom/manager Jonetta Patton don’t get along. When Usher fired and then later re-hired his mom to manage his career, the singer only added fuel to the rumors that Tameka and Jonetta are not each other’s favorite people. In 2007, the couple abruptly scrapped plans for a lavish Hamptons wedding but later married in a small ceremony. 37-year-old Tameka and Usher, 30, already have one child together, Usher Raymond V, and are expecting a second.
