Accused album leaker pleads not guilty
A blogger accused of leaking songs from the long-delayed Guns N’ Roses album Chinese Democracy has pleaded not guilty to violating federal copyright laws. Kevin Cogill appeared Monday morning in federal court in Los Angeles and entered the plea. Federal authorities say Cogill posted nine unreleased Guns N’ Roses songs on his website in June. The songs were later removed. The album has been 10 years in the making. If convicted, Cogill faces up to three years in prison – possibly more if prosecutors prove the 27-year-old did it for financial gain.
