Times Are Tough For Hugh Hefner

On the heels of his breakup with Holly Madison, which has left the Playboy founder feeling “like roadkill,” Hugh Hefner had to cut eighty jobs from the DVD division of his Playboy enterprises. The company will “stop making DVDs to save about 12 million per year.”

His daughter, Christie Hefner, who at 55 is 36 years older than his newest girlfriends, and heads up Playboy, sent a memo around to company employees stating that the cuts came as part of the goal to return to profitability in 2009. Playboy didn’t just cut jobs, they are also cutting travel, expenses, and will use lighter magazine paper and energy efficient light bulbs to save some dough. Where parties at the Playboy Mansion used to only be available to an A-list group of celebrities and close pals, now they have outsourced the party production and your Average Joes can purchase tickets to the party – well, your Average Joes who have a few thousand dollars lying around. At least Hef has two sets of shoulders to cry on. [Source: Yahoo; Photo:Getty]
