Bill Richardson, on the possibility of Val Kilmer replacing him as Governor of New Mexico: “I like the idea. If he jumps in the race, he’s got name ID. That can’t be discounted.”
After Jesse Ventura and Arnold Schwarzenegger, it could be argued that almost any actor could be elected to high office. Kilmer (along with the New Mexico Film Investment Program) even brought tens of millions of dollars to New Mexico’s annual production revenue. Still, has anyone pushing his name around in politics actually seen a Val Kilmer movie? Here are five clips that opponents could easily use against him.
- Batman Forever
Val Kilmer: Wrong for Batman, wrong for New Mexico.
- The Doors
Val Kilmer: Can New Mexico afford to ride the snake?
- The Island Of Dr. Moreau
Val Kilmer: What ever Brando had, he probably caught.
- Real Genius
Val Kilmer: He’s probably just looking to get laid.
- Top Gun
Val Kilmer: Gay in the military.

Kilmer is every bit as qualified (for governor) as Ronald Reagan was when he ran for the top job in California. Reagan was only a supporting actor in ‘A’ films, and played leads in low-budget B-flicks ONLY. None of the Reagan ‘starrers’ took in the cash that some of Kilmer’s films did (adjusted for inflation, natch).
Acting abilities aside, Kilmer would make a far better chief executive than Sarah Palin– who thinks the USA should risk nuclear war with Russia, if the Caucasian nation of Georgia needed us to do so.
She hates gays, and works against sex-ed for teenage girls.– she thinks that the only way to prevent teenage pregnancy is to teach abstinence. (and she can prove it, right?)
If you look at all her positions, it becomes apparent that Palin would make a great chief exec for Iran. They like to hang religious non-believers, and Iran bans books as a matter of routine. She Does NOT believe in equal pay for women (for equal work), nor does she beieve that women are the equal of men in any other legal or social regard.
She would be right at home in Tehran….after she had the necessary sex-change op., of course…
….I’m afraid the Ayatollas would insist on that.
